since the wt this week has the prediction of a "peace and security" event, i thought i would include a comment from the new american commentary (nac, d. michael martin, pp.159-60) on 1 thessalonians 5:2, 3.. here is the wt's position, according to this week's wt study (sep 2012 study edition, pp.3 4):.

it happens "just before that day of jehovah.".

Before my fade started, I was struggling more and more with my doubts, misgivings, and "wait a minute" moments...
As much as I wanted to know more, I was scared that if I looked too deep down the rabbit hole, my own sense of intellectual integrity wouldn't allow me to stay.
But eventually, I had to take the blue pill; that same sense of intellectual integrity demanded it.
And I turned out to be right.

so oftin i recall being excited about all the cases that were won in the name of jehovah.
i would talk with my dad and ask him how could it be possible that the supreme court judges haven't become witnesses.
it made no sense to me, that these men and women were not moved by all the wins that the organization was piling up.
One of my "light bulb moments" was reading this (paraphrased, but fairly verbatim):
"While JWs championed freedom of speech in the courts, they are not known for practicing it internally..."
Damned if can remember where I read it, now.
