To whom are the JWS faithfully loyal to Jehovah or the Watchtower Corporation and the men who run it ?
by Finkelstein inan poignant question which might make a few jws a bit uncomfortable.. the words of jesus said that no one knows of the time of his return not the ancient israelites or the first era christians and jesus admonished those who would set a time upon god's own sacred time.. words spoken by jesus that certain men failed to adhere to who self proclaimed preachers of the gospel.. the executive leaders of the watchtower corporation (gb) have said that they were the faith slave to jesus fulfilling his instructions to spread the word of the new system of things.
.
yet over the past 140 years the wts and the men who have been running that organization have been endeavoring false prophets, selling a tainted corrupt version of the gospel through the literature these men published.

US Letter Read Sunday 4/26 at Meeting - No KH Use and No Field Service Indefinitely
by JWTom inthere was a letter read sunday at our meeting that mentioned some parts of us are starting to open back up.
however, regardless of things opening up that no kingdom halls should be used for any meetings of any kind.
also, no door-to-door ministry or any form of in-person ministry is allowed.

Like I've said, this thing has given the WTS the ideal pretext to shift into an "e-religion"; hell, it couldn't be more convenient if it were planned, IMO.
It'd be a massive cost-saving measure, super-easy, and the rank-and-file is now primed for it...
...all the incentives are in place.
Ten bucks says this becomes semi-permanent regardless of the pandemic's outcome.

Who is considered more bizarre?
by incognito2014 injws or mormons.
from a public point of view not from people within the religion as that would be obvious.. examples of extreme beliefs or behaviour would be useful..

Huh... don't know where that "epher" thing came from, and only just noticed it, now. Weird.
Any chance a mod can edit it out?

What's The Point?
by AllTimeJeff init's been 12 years since i submitted my resignation letter, and stopped playing by their rules.. in a spurt of manic rationality, i blew up the bridge, sky high.
knowing that the diseased organ would need to be forever removed, away from anything remotely functional in my mind, body, and soul.
lest i be tempted to return.... so, i left.

AllTimeJeff - "...JWs sniff out inactivity very well, since their noses are so high in the air..."
That is - hands down, without a doubt - my new favorite quote.
I can't believe I missed it the first time 'round.

How Is The Governing Body Viewed Today By Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inare they revered like the pope is to catholics??
back in the 1960s , fred franz and n.h knorr were the only men that counted.
after franz died, the governing body became more of an idolized entity.

Ironic how much they disdain their own origins, isn't it?
Almost like they're embarrassed, or something.

Simon's Board!
by Atlantis inthe watchtower witch-hunters are still sending out subpoena's and closing down websites.
it is safer for simon, this board, and us if we send out internal confidential documents privately.. from time to time i will let you know something has arrived that you might want.
just send us a "pm" and we will give you the download links.. you do not need to include any personal information.

It's weird...
...back in the day, they weren't really in the habit of calling attention to themselves in this particular manner.
It suggests - to me, at least - two things...
a) ...that the current leadership far more buy into the rhetoric of their own divine destiny, and inability to lose, or...
b) ...that they're experiencing an increasing underlying feeling of desperation, that fuels increasingly reckless and foolish decision-making..
If it's the latter, then the real question is... why the desperation?

epher"Protestantism is the WTS's slightly out-of-touch but generally well-meaning mom... Catholicism is the WTS's old alcoholic uncle who's finally working his way through his 12 steps... and Scientology is the WTS's crazy-ass, mean-as-fuck neighbor from down the street."
Continued, just for fun...
...Judaism is the WTS's eccentric but surprisingly insightful grandpa...
...Buddhism is his ageing hippy pen-pal...
...and Islam is his slightly bipolar nephew from a previous marriage, who doesn't always keep up with his regimen of meds.

Why do Jehovah`s Witnesses Shun fellow believers When God and Jesus never shunned even Satan ?
by smiddy3 inscholars generally agree that it was written between the 7th and 4th centuries bce, with the 6th century bce as the most likely period for various reasons.
the book of job .. so according to jw`s about 6,000 years ago satan rebelled against jehovah god ,did jehovah disown him there and then shunning him ?.
apparently not as we can read from the book of job centuries later that satan could still come and go freely before the throne of jehovah in heaven .job 1: 6. and apparently he could still do this for centuries later ,that is coming to and fro before jehovah because according to the jw religion he wasn`t cast out of heaven for another 2,000 years until the 20th century .. now in the case of jesus much of what is said about jehovah and satan also applies to jesus before he came to earth.. but even when he was on earth he didn`t shun satan either in fact he allowed satan to lead him around according to the bible account.luke 4:13 so the devil having concluded all the temptations retired from him until another convenient time .so it wasn`t jesus calling the shots here it was satan .. mark 1: 13 he ,jesus, also shared 40 days in the wilderness with satan letting him tempt him .. so their was no way either jehovah or jesus ever shunned satan the devil according to the bible writings.. and when jesus ascended to heaven after his sacrifice he along with his father jehovah still had association with satan the devil until he was cast out of heaven 2,000 years later ,according to the jw`s..

All academic, IMO.
The real reason the WTS doesn't want members from talking to ex-members is because they don't want 'em to realize why the ex-members actually left.
They even - in a roundabout way - have admitted as much.
