I soon learned very early on not to talk about things that bothered me.

many who are mentally and spiritually sick are not confined in mental institutions.
millions are held in restraint, however, in institutions of another kind, religious organizations.... by his prophet god expressed his disgust with such methods and those who practice them.

i was in the cult for years about 40. fourth gen born in cult member or for me ex cult member.
i have seen so many cult members who don't seem to really care if the end is near or not.
they are much more concerned with the idea that this is their social network and they need and or want it just the way it is.
"...even if it isn't true, it's still the best way of life..."
In retrospect, this one actually helped my fade.
Denying yourself perfectly valid and legitimate interests, hopes, and dreams, and placing all your chips on a promise made by people you don't even personally know is "the best way of life"...?
Isolating yourself from and condemning people and institutions you need whilst simultaneously availing yourself of their benefits is "the best way of life"...?
Waiting with baited breath for a near-extinction-level event to wash across the planet whilst hoping you wont get caught up in said wave is "the best way of life"...?

Doubting Thomas - “Their opinion about some of God's prophecies, and some of their policies.”
Congratulations.
According to the confidential elders’ manual “Shepherding the Flock of God”, you’re an apostate.
imho, its the one rodney spinks and terry o`brien parroting the governing body direction is that when somebody leaves the religion whether they just fade ,disassociate or even get disfellowshiped ,then they are in fact shunning all members of all congregations worldwide including family and friends ,.according to their testimony at the arc.. this is a blatant lie and misrepresents the truth,.and they know it.. when a person leaves the religion for whatever reason they are rejecting the governing body`s teachings ,doctrines and practices of the religion of jehovah`s witnesses and not all peoples associated within the congregations.. especially not family and friends who they may have long standing relationships with.. they try to shift the blame and put the onus on those who leave.. shame on them for perpetuating such a lie..
BTW, does anybody else remember when JWs were proud to acknowledge that they ostracized ex-members?
WTF happened?
