Revelation book

do you remember the jw.org book of revelation and how many times we had to study it?

in retrospect, all those hours turned out to be for nothing, the explanation of the prophecies is now completely outdated..

This, IMO, may be coming back to bite them on the ass in a very unexpected way, now.

We studied the Revelation Climax book so thoroughly that the sequence of events is kinda set in stone…

…and in old Freddy Franz’s End Times interpretation, “Babylon the Great” gets attacked by the “Wild Beast” first, whilst Jehovah’s Witnesses are supposedly attacked last.

Yet, it’s the Watchtower that currently seems to be under siege…

…and as much as organized religion seems to be genuinely in decline overall, “Babylon” keeps on keepin’ on.

I could be wrong.

the original watchtower organization is incorporated in pennsylvania, and the state has taken on the catholic church successfully.

this is a case worth watching!

To All Those Keen To Tell Us About Their Beliefs

we seem to have had an influx of religiots - the people who want to tell us all about how we / the wts / whoever are wrong, wrong, wrong about everything and how right they are.

they obviously have special insight, or voices (probably voices, right?

) telling them the real truth.. as proof, there is inevitably a wall of random scripture references and quotes.. sorry, but we're not here for that.

Maybe word got around that most folks here were XJWs, and the religiots thought they could find some fresh meat.

Fortunately for us, the WTS has already done a pretty effective job inoculating most of us against any other flavour of religious expression (credit where credit’s due).

Legal fight over door-to-door notes continues: case goes to Strasbourg

on 10 june 2019, the finnish jw organization lodged an application against finland with the european court of human rights.

the case was quickly - by the court's standards - communicated to the finnish government on 10 december 2019. the complaint itself isn't available online but there is a brief summary (see the link above) prepared by the court:.

the application concerns the jehovah’s witnesses’ religious activities in finland and their compatibility with the data protection regulations.

Journeyman - “… these days most of the cases they try to bring are at best dubious and at worst vexatious…”

I think over the years, they’d come to buy into their own hype that their past court victories were evidence of God’s favor (as opposed to careful planning by shrewd lawyers).

Believing that they’re “destined to prevail no matter what” would definitely tempt them to pick more and more fights they wouldn’t otherwise win.

In fact, I suspect the possibility of losing is almost foreign to them.

It’s about the business… whose sole purpose is shoring up the religion.

The Org’s survival is of utmost importance…

…not least because without it, the WT leadership would be nothing… they would have nothing…

…but especially because if the WTS’s survival were actually threatened, it would too deeply call into question the Org’s legitimately and authority…

…and from their perspective, that simply cannot be permitted under any circumstances.

After all, “God's Exclusive Earthly Organization” can’t be permitted to not survive… if it didn’t survive, it wouldn’t be “God's Exclusive Earthly Organization”…

…because based on a century’s worth on internal standards and rhetoric, if they’re not “God's Exclusive Earthly Organization”, it is - by default - a “false religion”, and therefore doesn’t even deserve to exist.

And that prospect is simply unacceptable to them.
