I’m not convinced the GB really think anything through.
😏
if the current doctrine is that only baptised witnesses are going to survive and everyone else burns them what about this new update new light that some from before the flood and sodomites will be resurrected?.
but didn’t he mention at the agm something about there is no point jehovah killing them and then resurrecting them again?
it seems they are confused about what they teach and that’s why brother jackson joked about “is this what we used to believe or what we believe now?”.

i been reading quite a few experiences on reddit lately, and their seems to be a common theme coming up….
…dialed-up-to-eleven shunning of xjws by their witness relatives.. it reminds me of back in the day, listening to some of the over-the-top vitriol displayed by hard-core loyalists when the topic of evolution or apostates came up….
…i was gobsmacked when i finally realized these guys weren’t offended and indignant because they thought it was lies….
So, they’re not hostile towards former members simply because they’ve left…
…they feel threatened because they’re afraid that XJWs leaving might make the WT crumble.
Damn.
are the governing body really in charge or are they just a figurehead with the real power being behind the curtain .

Or am I overthinking it?

The reason I bring it up is that I can’t help but wonder if there’s something more going on here…
…that at least some of these loyalists who’ve bet the farm on the Org having the Truth have, nevertheless, grasped intuitively (like so many of us early on) that something is very, very wrong…
…but if they just stay the course long enough - and more importantly, keep the membership in - it’ll all still somehow come true.
Taking that line of reasoning one step further, they subconsciously blame those leaving for the Tower’s (potential) fall.

hoser - “…They are just following what the previous governing bodies did, tweaking the teachings when circumstances force them to…”
This.
The fun starts when the forced tweaks reach the point where any remaining claim to authority becomes essentially nonexistent.

“It’s my experience that, yes, it has changed. Elders are quick to seek legal advice from the branch at even a hint that an incident could be ‘trouble’… I believe they will be told to report it anonymously if WT Legal deems it reportable…”
Um…
…that doesn’t sound like a change.
That sounds like business as usual.

And keep the civil suits coming to make sure the Hall sales keep coming.
Every little one is another bite from an ever-hungrier school of piranhas.

Sell ‘em all off, I say…
…the further the rank-and-file have to drive to the meetings, they more they’re inclined to go on Zoom…
…the more they go on Zoom, the easier it is to tune out…
…the easier it is to tune out, the more fading becomes appealing…
…the more faders there are, the more the leadership feels compelled to fudge the numbers…
…the more they fudge the numbers, the more it becomes obvious that they’re doing so…
…the more it becomes obvious that they’re fudging things, the more they’ll alienate decent rank-and-filers…
…the more rank-and-filers become alienated, the more will leave…
…and so on, and so forth…
