printed magazines
by pepperheart2 inhi does any body know if the watchtower are printing any new awakes etc as these past 8 months or so i have had magazines from four different carts from four different towns 100s of miles apart and the most recent magazines that they all had were from 2021..

I’ve said this before, but I have a really hard time imagining the Org succeeding at any attempts at authentic mainstream reform.
All the things that they hold up as “proof” of God’s exclusive favor would be left by the wayside one by one.
The ones that already want to leave will go even more readily…
…and the ones that would otherwise want to stay will have lost any real incentive to.
Not that having to shut down due to insolvency would feel any better, but jeezus.

by Vidiot ini been reading quite a few experiences on reddit lately, and their seems to be a common theme coming up….
…dialed-up-to-eleven shunning of xjws by their witness relatives.. it reminds me of back in the day, listening to some of the over-the-top vitriol displayed by hard-core loyalists when the topic of evolution or apostates came up….
…i was gobsmacked when i finally realized these guys weren’t offended and indignant because they thought it was lies….

I’m inclined to agree.
That being said, everything we’ve seen and heard reinforces the idea the WT leadership are full-on True Believers…

…like NotFormer, the current crop at WTHQ strike me as a pretty soft bunch, but they’d rather gargle with broken glass than make the ultimate gamble, declare victory, and then not be vindicated.
They could justify the deception as the lesser of two evils… i.e. worth it to keep the spark alive amongst the rank-and-file, and (more importantly) the Organization alive amongst themselves. 🙄
The luxury bolthole in Argentina’d be off the table, though… their ext-treaty with the US is pretty ironclad.
My money’s on the Caymans…
…’cause unless things have changed, that’s where a big chunk of theirs is.

Were JW Celebrities Ever An Asset To The Organisation?
by NotFormer injust wondering if the rich celebrities that occasionally were aligned with the wt gave enough to the 'tower to be a worthwhile presence within the organisation?.
my gut instinct is: "no".
i imagine that the jackson family gave a fair bit, but it was obviously never enough to buy michael the right to be held as being in good standing.
