According to insiders, the Org itself is half-expecting it.

Norway
by St George of England inso the wt society is going to contest the recent norway ruling.. jehovah’s witnesses to appeal unconstitutional ruling in norway (jw.org).
their true colours are shown in the statement: "the decision to deregister jehovah’s witnesses denies us the financial aid and other benefits that the government provides to over 700 registered religious communities in the country.
additional consequences include losing the right to appoint and authorize ministers of jehovah’s witnesses as officiants for weddings.".

re. ThomasMore’s post…
So…
…the fornication stakeout guys think they’re hard-boiled detectives…
…the JC elders think they’re hotshot prosecuting attorneys…
…the Legal Department thinks they’re superheroes…
…and the Governing Body thinks they’re God’s mouthpiece on Earth.
How the fuck have they even survived this long?
😵💫

Prediction: no more changes for a long while
by slimboyfat ini’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.
so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.
maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.

@ LoveUni…
Don’t kid yourself.
The Org isn’t “dynamic”.
It’s reactionary.

Ironic thing is…
…if the Org keeps reforming the way it has been (authentically or otherwise), these guys could be out of a job before too long.

So, does any of it seem to verify the policy adjustments that redsetter2 described?

I don’t actually have much of a problem with throwing asshelders under the bus.
As long as they don’t just single out one or two as scapegoats and then declare that they’ve cleaned house, like that Abu Ghraib horseshit back in the 00’s.

SCHEMING TO END YOUR MARRIAGE NOW AS BAD AS APOSTASY
by raymond frantz inhttps://youtu.be/-yvykw37rzo?si=vwokohrdq2b53fmh.
by now, it should be painfully obvious that we live in a post tonny morris era where the floods of organizational changes have become possible and a new version of the religion, some have called it warchtower 2.0 is emerging with a soft approach to disfellowshipping practices across the board for all those sinners.
nevertheless 3 groups of people will still be targeted for harsh excommunication, we know the first two well :csa perpetrators and apostates.

So basically…
…the WT leadership is fine-tuning the rules to prevent overly authoritarian and/or biased BOEs (a.k.a. “asshelders”)* from handling the congregations in a manner that, rather than having a positive net effect, ends up alienating more members in the long run than not (i.e. creating “apostates”)…
…which the Org can no longer afford.
I gotta say…
…for a good long while there, it definitely seemed like they wanted to get rid of more folks than they wanted to keep; it was talked about numerous times here.
I guess they finally figured out (or more likely, had it explained to them in a way that didn’t break their brains) that it wasn’t a sound survival strategy.
🤨
*Entrenched administrative and ideological holdovers from the Jaraczic Period, I’ll bet.

Update changes well received
by Gorb ina few weeks later, the witness that i speak, family and friends are very happy with the recent changes .. no one mentions the df aproach change, fieldservice report and free entrance to the paradise for non jw.. only the clothing style and beard are mentioned.. the sisters are all in a halaluja happy modes.
they are feeling being respected and heard by the lovely leadership.. one brother told me he will never grow a beard because he lost his elder status in the early 90's because of his beard.
now it's allowed i will not grow a beard he sweared.. it seems jw.org has down a great change job.

NotFormer - “It's a classic case of misdirection…”
Agreed.
Thing is, though…
…the moment you start using under-handed (or heavy-handed) methods in your efforts to claim the moral high ground…
…you forfeit the moral high ground.
