Even the ones who were right.

only its benefits will be everlasting.
(for the earthly 2nd class sheep).
w80 7/1 p. 31 - questions from readers - why does the november 15, 1979, issue of the watchtower (pages 26, 27) speak of the “new covenant” being near the end of its operation, when hebrews 13:20 speaks of this covenant as being “an everlasting covenant”?

on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
Sea Breeze - “…He joked that he's ‘trying to keep her alive till the end, because he's too old to break in a new wife’…”
Why would that matter?
I thought the GB were expecting to be raptured taken away to heaven when the End kicked off.
Did he just let something significant slip?

NotFormer - “…It's a pity that the R&F aren't following orders the way they used to…”
Yeah, I’m all broken up about it.

Funny…
…the way I’d heard it, Ol’ Freddy spent his twilight years aimlessly shuffling around Bethel dressed in Herb Tarleck’s hand-me-downs, and muttering to his shoes.

quote from that world wide resolution: .
that, in order to prevent the destruction of the nations by their own means in war, the nations further refused the surrender of their sovereignty to god’s messianic kingdom by setting up a society of nations, which, since 1945, has taken the form and the name of the united nations, with international headquarters at new york city.
this international organization stands for world sovereignty by political men.
Something else just occurred to me.
All this, in turn, can’t help but make me wonder…
…just how much behind-the-scenes influence - or even control - does the WTS actually have over these other (former)“breakaway” Bible Student groups?
🤨
The Org obviously watched very carefully and took notes when the AOG splintered apart after Herbert Armstrong died…
…and we all know they took very draconian measures to mitigate schisms in the late 70s and early 80s (for a whole shit-ton of reasons).
What if (and I freely admit this is a bit out there) they were also able to legally and financially maneuver on the down-low to quietly take back some of the more potentially valuable (or vulnerable) prodigal churches… regardless of whether said prodigals wanted it? Or even realized it?
Now before you call horseshit, stop and think about it a minute…
…IF this had happened, it would have been done under Ted Jaracz’s watch.
And that authoritarian prick would have absolutely been capable of something that ruthless and unscrupulous… bringing wayward dogs to heel with an iron fist was practically his whole thing.
Means, motive, and opportunity, folks.

Not to mention that no organization under the purview of the WTS…
…regardless of it’s claimed affiliation…
…would be officially tolerated if it distributed outdated WT publications… particularly any utilized by a religious competitor.
The fact that this IS tolerated, however (and seems to have been for some time, now), suggests that the Org leadership is, in fact, perfectly hunky-dory with “apostate” material…
…as long as they’re benefiting from it.
i have several jw family members.
i have been shunned many years now.
i was not baptized, but i was indoctrinated as a child.
It was clearly covered up by wicked apostates.

TonusOH - “…They seem to have a need to ‘correct’ almost any statement made by a non-JW about Christianity…”
I noticed that, too.
What do they do when a nonJW “gets it right”?

Sea Breeze - “…Yes, it is still current theology…”
I concur; it’s a major part of why the WTS can never budge on evolution.
And the Bible does state that “death covers all sins”, BTW. Not sure of the full context, though.

It’s right up there with the mandate for WT reps to deliberately seek all available opportunities for tax-exemption… that the Org is, in fact, entitled to it.
🤣
