Multiple elder visits… wrist-slaps for minors… 3-month probationary removal… everybody says hi anyways…
…at this point, WTF is the point?
in the past, we used to hear talks on:.
avoiding sexual immorality and porn, as well as masturbation and other sexual practices.
why evolution cannot possibly be true.

FFGhost - “…How bad off are they, financially?”
This is almost the exact same question I asked when their charity-status was literally on the chopping block in Australia, and they blinked at the last minute and signed up for the ARC’s redress scheme to keep it…
…and when I first clued in that their financial situation might not be as robust as we’d thought.

i am not aware of how many of you are familiar with the danish case of a jehovah's witness who was hospitalized after a tragic accident where he fell several floors from a scaffolding where he was working.. the patient was admitted to the intensive care unit and was conscious (albeit somewhat confused) for the first three weeks.
@ NotFormer…
Still gobsmacks me when I actually see it.
It’s one thing to pick fights that aren’t winnable…
…it’s a whole ‘nother thing to pick fights that make you look stupid.

Jeezus, it seems like every fight they pick these days makes ‘em look worse.

DesirousOfChange - “…While it used to mean removal of any/all privileges, they had to adjust that policy or there would be no elders/MS still serving and definitely no young guys available for Bethel service…”
While this aspect makes me chuckle, there’s a darker parallel.
After the Dateline expose 20-odd years ago, they made a semi-public statement that that no known sex offenders could hold any positions of responsibility in JW congregations.
What some might not know is that a few years later, they quietly (but very specifically) reversed that policy.
I couldn’t get my head around it… YTF would they set themselves up for the kind of blowback that would inevitably come from that?
Eventually, I figured it out…
…coupled with fewer and fewer qualified males “reaching out”, there had to be so many offenders that the Org was running out of guys to keep things functioning.
And that was a very disturbing conclusion.

I can’t find any info about this case.

slimboyfat- “…it’s one figure they don’t give in the highlights…”
Good catch. 👍

I think we’re all forgetting something…
…that in the long run, it doesn’t actually matter how many alleged “adherents” the WTS claims.
If they’re just warming seats, tuning out on Zoom, fibbing about their ministry activity, living as they please without fear of being “removed”, and most importantly, closing their wallets (either because they’re PIMO or broke as shit)…
…any numbers the WT claims are essentially irrelevant.

And we’re just supposed to…
…believe it? 😏
I’m just struck by how lovely these brave servicewomen are. 😎
