What is the pulse of active JW‘s?
by SouthCentral inthere has been a lot recent small changes that could be considered earth shattering for some… how are the longtime witnesses reacting?.
the typical response has to be thankfulness that jehovah is shedding light and refining them for the end of the world….
the witness, who’s a thinker has to be frustrated with wasting decades… is the lightbulb coming on for more pimi’s?.

This.
Sometimes I suspect that no one else in history has sunk more cost into a fallacy that Jehovah’s Witnesses.

“…child rape…and assisting the perpetrators conceal it… are universally condemned and reflect total moral bankruptcy…”
100% spot on.
Which is why CSA is such a singular problem for authoritarian religions in general, and the WTS in particular.
Total - and obvious - moral bankruptcy (particularly in instances where its impact hits close to home, and has been demonstrated as institutionalized and endemic) thoroughly undermines any given religious organization’s legitimacy and authority like nothing else…
…and exponentially so, for one who has insisted for decades that it has exclusive legitimacy and authority.
When the actions you take to reinforce your own claim of the moral high ground are inherently immoral…
…you forfeit the moral high ground.

Applying the facial hair change in New Order portrayals
by careful ini have a hard time watching the org's vids and reading the publications.
however, that's not the case with others here.
hence this post.

Journeyman - “The Org is moving quickly to show beards on brothers and to normalise it as quickly as possible…”
Which, since the Org couldn’t “move quickly” and “normalize” anything to save its own life, ironically looks awkward AF.

Are JW's a Social Experiment ?
by Sea Breeze inwhen a person looks at the sheer volume of watchtower lies, denial of salvation, free labor, false prophecies, misrepresentations, gas-lighting and falsehoods about everything and anything, it makes me wonder if it's one big test to see how gullible people can be.
there was as social experiment in the 1960's that tested how far people were willing to administer an increasing dose of electric shock if directed to do so by an authority figure.
shockingly, people were willing to give lethal doses to their neighbors.

JWs can toast now….what’s next
by FFGhost inso you can see from multiple topics here (& elsewhere), based on gb update #4, jws now have permission to toast.. there’s been a boatload of “xyz is now allowed” over the past couple of years….beards, no ties in field service or at the kh, sister can wear pants at the kh & in field service…... what do you think is next?.
a lot of folks are speculating on birthday celebrations being allowed, and i agree that will eventually come, but i don’t think it is next.
too big of a jump.. heres my guess:.

Pretty sure Lett was already a clone of someone, BTW…
…maybe even the latest in a series.
It would definitely explain a couple things…
…a copy of a copy is never quite as sharp as the original, after all.

Beth - “Elaine on her JWescape channel just uploaded a video… She outlines how Lett is just mocking the JWs”
Just watched it, and I think she’s spot-on; WT reps would absolutely sour the deals (they probably had to make) by not participating in something that is, at its core, harmless.
Hell, they probably did it plenty of times in the past*, but in the Information Age, that kind of thing is damn near impossible to keep on the down-low, so they tried to get ahead of it.
…
*Not unlike having to swear allegiance in order to obtain a passport? Or acquiring NGO status to make missionary work a little easier? Or flipping on organ transplants because maybe a GB member needed one?
Thing is, no leader should expect their followers to obey instructions that they themselves wouldn’t…
…and any leader who does expect it is no leader at all. 🤨

That was an actual plot point in the movie Equilibrium.
