"dearie" sounds a little condescending to me. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but not one can tame the tongue... It is restless....at least I've been told. You may be different.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
who's responsible to follow this? the householder? or the JW professing to follow Jesus' words?
JWs have been warned about this, so can't blame WT for this one. This was one individual who did this. Whether she just forgot or perhaps didn't care enough about others, who can say? I think it was ok to remind her of her strong smell in this case. As a JW, she could have taken the advice a little better (and not pointed out the missing sign)...seeing who she was claiming to represent.
By the way, I remember pointing out to a CO once what the word "negligence" meant, as defined in their own Insight Book. If I remember right, in English it can have two meanings: you forgot, or you didn't care. But in Hebrew it only has one meaning: You Didn't Care. I had just made reference to this CO a quote made by WT in the Revelation Climax book. It had to do with one of the congregations, can't remember which, but I remember the quote: "Due to the NEGLIGENCE on the part of a body of elders, an entire congregation can fall asleep"
I was emphasizing that the Bible doesn't make concession for Christian negligence.. That's why I think the JW sister in this case should have taken the admonishment better. That's all. .

Large Increase in Trolley Witnessing
by The Searcher inwhen the org implements its bethelite "genocide" and demotes many members of the "worldwide order of special full-time servants of jehovahs witnesses" into lowly regular pioneers, many more trollies will have to be found in order for such ones to rack up their required monthly hours.. how many are actually going to be shocked by this into waking up?

What those terrible worldly people are doing
by JeffT inyesterday there was a horrific crash on a bridge here in seattle.
a dukw (wwii amphibious truck) tourist cruise lost control and hit a charter bus full of exchange students head on.
four dead and about a dozen seriously wounded, many more in less critical condition.yesterday, canlis restaurant, located near the scene and one of the most exclusive eateries in seattle, closed for the first time in its 65 year history and sent out its staff with food for the first responders.

I'd take "worldly" generosity over "Christian" assistance anyday....no strings attached from worldly people, just simple human concern.
I was telling an elder out in service once about my disfellowshipped sister in law stopping her car to help a homeless woman she saw sitting on the sidewalk. She helped her access services and housing for homeless and eventually this woman got back on her feet and became a JW. It surprised me that this elder was visibly agitated at my telling him this, and the look he gave me told me he suspected me to be an apostate sympathizer. I just thought it was nice of my sis to reach out and thought he would too. .

E-Mail, Just recived. About Bethell adjustments.
by DwainBowman ini just read an email from a friend, and she shared some very interesting emails from her friends about information on changes now happening at the bethels around the world.
here is the email: .
---------------------------------thanks sally, jesus is directing the org and all decisions and instructions to us may not seem practical from now on, neither will we understand the reasonings behind many of the changes that the organization makes.

Future Meeting Arrangements:
And the announcement at the meeting will be:
"The GB has good news and bad news.
The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program.
The bad news is, it's still out there in your pockets."

A simple explanation for the financial changes
by JeffT inas i've mentioned from time to time, i'm a retired accountant.
i have tried many times to come up with some logical, sound business reason why the wtbs has made the big changes in its financial arrangements: taking the congregations savings, the monthly donations per congregation etc.
i finally came up with the answer.. the leadership of the watchtower society is batshit crazy.

JeffT: have tried many times to come up with some logical...reason. the answer ..is batshit crazy.
HA! I too clicked expecting something more from Jeff... but he actually gave a simple explanation of the WTS. And I would hope nothing more is going on....because if there is more to it, then... i had a "crazy" thought:
what if the joke is on us? If they're up to no good and they know it, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop them...then they probably get a big laugh out of all of us here....i hope i'm not overthinking this b/c i'm really, really sick of them and I would hate to be duped again.
also had this unrelated thought: does anyone notice other religions making big changes like we've seen recently w/ WT or is this religion unique in this way? If not, why not? Even my JW wife says it's not the same religion anymore.

What I said to an Elder and the matter was dropped.
by Simon Templar ini decided to tell this small story.. about 25 years ago, we lived in a certain area in the usa and associated with the local congregation there.
coincidently, one of the elders was the assistant congregation servant in a different kh and congregation which i grew up in.
therefore, we knew one another well.

An older elder in our cong had a term he used for this when it happened to him: 'phantom accusers'.
And if there's more than one, they get to misuse the ol' 2witness rule against you. This happened to me too and was instrumental in waking me up. It was a sucker punch.
I was listening to a McNeill/Lehrer interview of one of Pres. Reagan's military strategists (can't remember the name right now). He wrote a book after the Berlin Wall came down something about the "Evil Empire". He made a comment about what he thought made Communist Russia an evil empire. When I heard this, I never forgot it, because it described exactly the way the borg works too and one of the reasons I think it's evil.
He said: "There was no security on a personal level against arbitrary attacks." (speaking of KGB)
I thought to myself: Bingo!

Good news/bad news but really good news all because of a wonderful board member
by Still Totally ADD inthis last week i was e-mailed that my aunt had died.
she was 95 years old and had a long a good life with a loving family around her.
the reason this is more good news than bad is because due to the help of a member on this board i was able to reconnect with her.
