Always remember the Dilbert Strategy for meetings. I used this alot in my 20 years of serving as an elder prior to waking up! Wait for the idiots to all express themselves, on what they think is the best course of action. Wait, untill most have got to use the bathroom and once you note the majority are uncomfortable from either warmth or needing to use the facilities present a mishmosh of the ideas already presented and then put your own ideas out for adoption, and well over 50% of the time everyone goes for your ideas. I am so glad I don't have to participate in that crap anymore.

I know about the price. AWggg I ordered it almost a year before it was available, as I was aware of the project. I think I might make copies of the conclusions reached and post it in awhile. It is such a detail oriented book that most of us are hard put to read all the in depth research and comparisons etc... it was tough for me and I am used to powering :)through materails like this. I will take this on as a project and I don't think it would constitute copyright infringement if I list it as his work. Look for it in a couple weeks if everything goes good.

Well due to overwhelming response I will comment myself in case anyone happens by this thread again. I was quite humbled by this body of work on the part of this research group. Gunnar's name went on the book but he gives due credit to several researchers who assisted him in the multi-year study of the subject.
The conclusions reached echoed comments made earlier by another poster on this site that stated while many claim they know what type of instrument was used in Jesus death, we simply don't know. Crucified yes, according to reliable history and eyewitnesses, but exactly what it looked like, is another matter. Neither scripture, nor secular history or archeology support a definitive conclusion. To use upright stake as the proper instrument of Jesus death as the only possible means was irresponsible if uninformed on the part of WTB&TS. Some supporting and biased works may have been used at the time they adopted this belief? Probably and likely. However, but to make the distinction that Jehovah's witnesses adopted in the past on this subject, does not hold up to the scrutiny of scholarly investigation. It was all about making an organization distinct from main stream Christendom ...purely and simply. Some JWs may suggest well it was "by Holy Spirit that this truth was made known". Well, all I can say is goody for you! This mans work in behalf of all who call themselves Chritians was certainly made with prayer and supplication, and an earnest desire for the truth to be known especially since he is a Pastor himself!

Do Jehovah's Witnesses know what happened to them in 1954?
by Terry in1954: the year jehovah's witnesses stopped worshiping jesus christ.
watchtower charter: http://www.jehovah.net.au/books/1945_cha..._wtbts.pdf.
did you know that from 1879 until 1954 the writings of c.t.russell, j.f.rutherford, nathan knorr and the watchtower's own charter all agreed that jesus christ was worthy of worship?.

Some interesting insights on previous thinking.
Studies in the Scriptures Vol 6 page 242
"the real need of the Church of Christ is still more
liberty-until each individual member shall stand free and independent of all human bonds,
creeds, confessions, etc. With each individual Christian standing fast in the liberty wherewith he
was made free by the Lord (Gal. 5:1; John 8:32), and each individual Christian united in loyalty
to the Lord and to his Word, very quickly the original unity which the Scriptures inculcated
would be discerned and all true children of God, all members of the New Creation, would find
themselves drawn to each other member similarly free, and bound each to the other by the cords
of love far more strongly than are men bound in earthly systems and societies. "The love of
Christ constraineth us" [holds us together-Young's Concordance]. 2 Cor. 5:14"WT 1884 February Pages 1-2
We belong to no earthly organization; hence, if you should
name the entire list of sects, we should answer, No, to each and to all. We adhere only to that heavenly
organization- "whose names are written ih heaven." (Heb. 12 :23; Luke 10:
20.) All the saints now living, or that have lived during
this age, belonged to OUR CHURCH ORCANIZATION: such are all ONE Church, and there is NO OTHER recognized by the Lord. Hence any earthlv organization which in the least interferes with this-union oi saints is contrary to the teachings of Scripture and opposed to the Lord's will-"that they may be ONE." -

You know there are some pretty interesting studies being done on the power of the mind to cause or bring about self healing.
Here is just the first link I picked up on Google
http://healing.about.com/od/visualization/a/powerofmind.htm
"Through the wormhole" with Morgan Freeman has also discussed this subject, in one of the shows.
just something to consider??
