Cost of new Kingdom Halls?
by Blttex ini have been told that the cost to build a new kingdom hall is $500k +.
i have a background in commercial construction and this seems pretty high to me, considering all the free labor.
that is just the cost of the building, excluding the lot price.

Anony Mous I had this position as well and that seems low to me. Perhaps in the 1970s and early 80s but incl. land easily into 3-400,000s and again this depends on where but even in rural areas usually 200,000.00 plus.

Bible Translation Shenanigans
by Perry inby jack l. green.
the bible clearly and unmistakably teaches that the lord jesus christ is jehovah god.
the cult known as "jehovah witnesses" deny that jesus is jehovah, thus revealing that they are anti-christ.. not only have the "jehovah witnesses" tampered with the context of hundreds of scriptures, but now they have brazenly moved into the bible translation field.. their reason for doing this?

Something Is Screwy With WT's New Bible!
by JW GoneBad innot sure if this has already been brought up.. it appears that the verses in matthew 21:29 and matthew 21:30 have been transposed from one translation to the other.. the 'old' nwt in vs 29 & 30 states:.
'in answer this one said, "i will sir, but did not go out"'.
verse 30 reads: 'approaching the second, he said the same.

1984, Big Mother, and the Watchtower on freeminds2.org
by DS211 in1984 and big motherby randall wattersno one thought much of the book when it was first published in 1949, nor, in fact, did it stir much attention for a number of years thereafter.
in the last two decades, however, the book1984 by george orwell has drawn a much greater reading audience.
orwell portrays a society brainwashed by political ideologies to the point where they are intolerant of any other mindset.

Good commentary on JWs and Orwells 1984 book.

Why does Hebrews 6 say that it is impossible to revive to repentance one who has "fallen away"?
by I_love_Jeff inin the "reasoning" book (pages 34-37), this scripture is used to help define and understand apostasy: .
hebrews 6:4-6 .
"for as regards those who were once enlightened and who have tasted the heavenly free gift and who have become partakers of holy spirit and who have tasted the fine word of god and powers of the coming system of things, but have fallen away, it is impossible to revive them again to repentance, because they nail the son of god to the stake again for themselves and expose him to public shame.

The understanding according to Witness theology is that once a member of the 144,000 and the spirit has revealed their destiny, then if the parameters of Heb. 6 :4-6 are acted out then it applies to these individuals. Of course this was applied to Ray Franz and all others who were professing annointed who left or disagreed with the Organization. Remember the commercial for Geico... when the Baby says ...."Freaky" !
