for the most part, i am able to understand how my family treats me.

i was a jw for 20 years...since birth.

i used to shun people.

If you gave that quilt back it would close the doors on your friendship forever. Keep it, cherish it & maybe curiousity will get the better of her & she will come to your aid if not now in the future :) Whatever you do keep those doors open & treasure that quilt ... x

i had family in from out of town.

and they went with another relative because he was the visiting speaker.

i wasn't there,but i heard a lot of people approached them after the meeting.

when i was a gormless super spiritual jw i did absolutely everything to the sanctification & glory of jehovahs name... i was a total perfectionist & i soo didnt want to bring any ill repute towards jehovah or the congregation, that with absolutely everything i did, i gave it my 100%.

i was a total boot licker doing everything just so in every area of my life... .

since waking up to the truth about the truth, i can no longer give my all to things.

Yer, I can see that my days as a perfectionist were completely brainless & did nothing but probably drive others insane... So thats where my problem is, I do little or as little as possible for a quiet life.. Lifes two extremes at opposite ends of the spectrum, finding the balance is whats difficult....

" in the 10 years i've been out i had no idea that forums like this existed.

a tad naive-sounding for someone with a background in it, i know, but it's taken me this long just to feel comfortable enough to type 'jw' into google.

Does anyone else have this kind of problem? I know a lot from the world of JW's are perfectionists, so how does everyone else overcome this ... :0

this scripture is the scripture that made me blindly accept everything .... because it specified that i not lean upon my own understanding i did exactly that.. is there any particular scripture that you took to heart that kept you blind?.

ill introduce myself.

my name is darren, im 23 and live in england.. im having some problems with the "truth".. to start it off and to keep it as minimal as possible because i dont want to bore your minds, i was raised with my whole family as a roman catholic.. after moving around the world, even as far as new zealand, i got myself in a terrible way in guernsey channel islands.

i met some old friends of mine who were into all sorts related to the "crime scene" and i got myself involved with drugs and the like.. i began a spiralling into depression and cutting my arms to feel alive.

They became the crutch when you needed someone. Now though you've learnt to stand on your own 2 feet & you've had that wake up call.

Do plenty of research. If its the Truth it will withstand any critisim. You will soon find out the Truth about the so called Truth :0 Were all here for you so ask away with any queries / questions you have :)
