  a woman in milwaukee bought a lithograph she liked at the local goodwill for $9.00, turns out it was an alexander calder print worth $9000.00!.

  my wife lives for this stuff, this story will keep her going for another decade lol.

  her big finds have been a tiffany sterling silver piece, a tony bennett signed lithograph (my favorite), and the cream of the crop a signed 4 piece lithograph by picasso contemporary bernard buffet she found and paid $12.00 for..

  I have found some amazing things

  1) "Toy" Football Helmet that turned out to be a REAL RARE Vintage piece - $1.50 turned to $275

  2) Hermes NEck Ties - $1.00 at Goodwill (3 of them ) $3 turned into $450.00

  3) $2.50 Buco Leather Jacket turned into $1150 (that was my best winner) and made a happy guy in CA even happier

  I love Goodwill, Value Village Village and all the Thirft Stores I have ever gone in!

  Yes I agree, in fact yesterday in my Chinese LAnguage class, I learned that the original record written in Chinese was 4500 BC, and predates the bible writings. So I asked my wife - how does this all add up when we were told to believe mankind has only been on earth 6,000 years,

  Ancient Chinese writings are far longer than that. Sadly she just got quiet and did not answer me back, I hope she is thinking and doing the research on her own.

  Also I talked to my cousin in another country today and asked if he has examined the historical record of the past Presidents of the WT? He said "no" and asked why, when I explained their actions and how it contradicts what Jesus taught, then silence on his end. I asked, "why so quiet" He said, I dont like where this is going" I asked why? are you afraid of what you may find out, he said "yes".

  People are afraid, but also afraid of the truth. You have to be BRAVE to find the truth in things - all things. Sadly many people are not brave, not liek the folks on this board that gave it all away to be solid in their belief system - I applaud you all - have a great week!

  Now that you know

  this question is primarily geared towards those that are "still in" or trying to "fade" like myself....now that you know the "truth about the truth"...if their is someone that knows you or your family are associated with jw's and ask you for your opinion of the religion or ask about studying with the jw's...how would you respond?.

  my reason for asking is that a girl i knew for many years now (since childhood) was invited to the kh by her coworker...she knew that my family and i are jw's since childhood...she went to the meetings and stated how she's learnt something new and she got "love bombed"...she's a fanastic girl and don't want her sucked into this cult...if she asks me about my experience as a jw, i want to be honest with her, but if i tell her how i feel, she may go back to my parents or the coworker and spill the beans...how would you handle it?.

  the second part of my query...we know that the wtbs bashes education...here's my situation....i got a college degree, i have a decent job for my age with possibility of further progression...there were many persons who were critical of me for attending college....saying how i could go to bethel, or pioneer or some other rubbish...now that college is done and you're working...you're ask to help out someone in the congregation financially...even the person who was critical of you...the person fell on hard times and needs a hand with their bills...would you assist this person out of the goodness of your heart, or would you abstain from helping because they were critical of you during college?.

  i remember i used to hate gay people a lot!

  when news reports came in about gays getting jumped in parks at night or killed.i would always smile inside.

  hi guys,.

  being a brit living abroad, i never really understood the whole thanksgiving business.. i think growing up as a jw didn't help either.

  anyway, i've rid myself of those jw shackles and have decided to take an interest into the goings on over the pond, especially as my favourite place on earth is bar harbor.

  if you take the time, you will find that Thanksgiving was instituted by Roosevelt after WW2, to spur on economic growth- IT was a USA SECULAR Holiday, never Religious - but the WT wont tell you that,

  Same Holiday as 4th of July, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Labor Day, etc.

  Plus Martha Stewart has made it a Gastronomical Extravaganza! and Familys use it now to gaver in fellowship.

  I love the Parades! what a nice rendition of Once's Great song "Falling Slowly" was on NBC this morning- I got tingly! or Chicken Skin as we say in Hawaii

  love the food!
