Can You Name ANYTHING That Jehovah’s Witnesses Have Been Right About?

regarding prophecies, i can’t name one thing jws have been correct about.

as a matter of fact nothing stands out to me that shows the witnesses have the truth..

The cult leaders claim that they predicted the United Nations as the league of nations was inactive or gone into the "abyss". The cult leader Nathan H. Knorr gave a talk themed "Peace, can it last" in late September 1942 where he "predicted" the U.N.

Here are serious problems with that claim:

01.) The plans for a re-organized international body was announced in 01/01/1942. As a matter of fact, it was F.D.R. who coined the term "United Nations" as the new international body. 26 nations besides U.S. and GB pledged support for this re-organized international body to fight for peace. This event is called the "United Nations declaration". This was 8 months before cult leader Knorr "predicted the U.N.!!!!

Problem #2: The league of nations was not officially dissolved until 04/20/1946. This means it was never dead and then resurrected again as the cult claims.

Problem #3: The U.N. was officially ratified by 50+ nations in 1945. This means the league of nations overlapped (No pun intended) its existence with the newly organized U.N. They were both in existence at the same time. This does not coincide with the description in Revelation that it was completely dead and revived.

Of I go to a restaurant and order a steak, and I tell my wife that I am predicting that the waitress will bring me a steak and BOOM.....I have a steak brought to me....does that make me a prophet?

Why the Oxygen Special will not work like we think it will...

within the very documentary is a reason i think that jw's for the most part will not wake up even if they watch this program.

the one lady actually saw as her family sat behind the abuser in court supporting him despite the established fact that he had abused their very own child.. this shows how deep the indoctrination is.

i am not saying that some won't wake up, but the majority will carry on, not even because they think these things are lies but because they will look past that at all costs to side with jehovah.

I agree to some extent with you. If anyone expects a mas exodus because of the Oxygen documentary, they will be sadly disappointed. However, this documentary will definitely help many wake up and at least become pimos and stop supporting the cult financially and by reaching out for slave labor (elders, pioneers, construction, bethel etc). Besides the information about the cover ups is available for anyone to see if they want to.

Another point that's VERY important is that the Oxygen documentary and many other media reports about the cults pedophile cover ups will prevent new members from joining. The only ones that are joining the cult are born ins and even then 66% end up leaving.

Rome wasn't built in 1 day. The Watchtower cult will unfortunately not go away immediately but it is losing its influence, control and credibility even amongst the die hard members.

Just like roaches are afraid of the light, the JW cult is afraid of information and education about their policies and history. Education will do them in eventually.

01.) Jesus arriving invisibly in 1874

02.) Jesus starting to reign in 1878

03.) Armageddon coming in 1914

04.) Armageddon re-scheduled for 1915

05.) All religions and churches were to be destroyed in 1918

06.) Armageddon re-scheduled again for 1920

07.) Armageddon to arrive in 1925 and the prophets of the old testament to be resurrected. This was a special 2 for 1 combo offered by the Watchtower President Rutherford.

08.) Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Samson and other NT prophets are to live in sunny San Diego, California in a 10 bedroom mansion (Beth Sarim) From there they will guide the new world order or system.

09.) Armageddon was again to arrive in 1941 as it was "months away" according to the kingdom ministry booklet and "Children" book.

10.) Vaccinations will never cure any disease.

11.) Man will never reach the outer orbit of the earth.

12.) This one is my favorite....Wait for it....

Hitler and the axis of evil will defeat the American Empire and its allies in WW2-. Brochure "Face the facts" p. 27.

13.) The end re-scheduled one more time to arrive this time for sure in 1975.

14.) The preaching work to end in the 20th century.

Need some advice, my gf just tried to commit suicide (very long post)

sorry for the grammar and spelling errors if any..(me 29 raised in the org) (gf 25 not raised) just left her at the hospital with (call her sara).. sara had just ingested half a bottle of her antidepressant pill and half a bottle of melatonin.

this took place after a discussion we where having about a recent event that took place.

long story short, sara told me she slept with my best friend/coworker(call him tim) after a argument we had, the morning after it supposedly happened.. i was pretty torn but i was maintaining and i even thought sara was lying because tim was such a good friend.

She needs mental and emotional help. After she gets that help and the atmosphere is somewhat calm and rational, address the issue in a calm manner.

If you plan to marry her and have her as your lifelong companion and possibly have children, you will need to understand that this incident of taking her life and making allegations to manipulate you will very likely repeat itself.

At the end of the day make a decision that will make you happy and have peace of mind.

Kobe was an inspiration and example of living a successful life as a result of hard work, passion, integrity and dreaming big.

Kobe showed that having determination and a never give up attitude reaps success and greatness. He was a great Father, Husband, teammate, son, and most importantly a human being that lived his dream and did good to many.

One of his quotes that had an impact on me was:

For many years the Government of Mexico did not allow religious organizations to own property. Any property used by a religious organization was confiscated by the government. This law changed in the mid 1990's. The 95 Yearbook briefly mentions this.

Because of this law, the Governing Body had instructed the branch in Mexico that they be registered as a "cultural society" and NOT A RELIGION. The congregations were called companies. Singing, praying at meetings and using the bible at the door to to ministry was NOT ALLOWED BY THE GOVERNING BODY! It was not the Mexican government that banned those activities, it was the Governing Body as they knew that if they sang, prayed and used the bible in the ministry the property would belong to the government as a result of being a religious institution.

The point I'm making is this:

01.) The Governing Body has for many years lied to governments and looks for loopholes in order to protect their a$$ets.

02.) They are willing to sacrifice prayers, singing to God and using the bible in order to protect their assets. How can they have the nerve to tell rank and file members to be courageous and honest when they will sell out their worship of god?

03.) The Governing body thinks the members are stupid and will not catch on to what their doing. Even to this day, many JW's in Mexico claim it was Satan and his persecution for the reason why they couldn't sing or pray or call themselves a religion. They don't realize that all those activities were indeed allowed but the Governing Body preferred to protect their a$$ets instead of worshipping god and being registered properly as a religion instead of a cultural society.

Lying to the public, authorities, courts and even their own members has become a common practice for the JW cult leaders.
