In defense of the Watchtower, the real problem and contradictions lie on the bible itself. Religion compounds the bullshit found in the bible.

Active JW's - Do you see a CONTRADICTION here?
by The Fall Guy inthe bible says this - acts 17:11 “...for they [the beroeans] accepted the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.”.
km 9/07 p. 3 question box - does “the faithful and discreet slave” endorse independent groups of witnesses who meet together to engage in scriptural research...?.
and yet, in various parts of the world, a few associates of our organization have formed groups to do independent research on bible-related subjects... some have pursued an independent group study...so as to analyze the accuracy* of the new world translation... for those who wish to do extra bible study and research, we recommend that they explore insight on the scriptures, “all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial,” and our other publications...” .

Why doesn't the wt discuss the real reason many partake?
by nowwhat? init has nothing to do about feeling chosen or ruling in heaven, but rather many feel it's a command for all christians, that by partaking you are accepting christ as their saviour!

The real reason the number of partakers has gone up is found in the W07 5/1 qfr.
The number of partakers was around 8,000 for many yrs. It was believed that the calling was finished in 1935. That 07 WT did away with the 1935 cutoff date and stated that no one can say when a specific time or yr the calling ended. After 2007, the numbers of partakers shot up after that.
Since Armageddon didn't come, they had to justify the new members of the GB. All of them were baptized after 1935 and had to do away with the cutoff yr.
"On the other hand, as time has gone by, some Christians baptized after 1935 have had witness borne to them that they have the heavenly hope. (Romans 8:16, 17) Thus, it appears that we cannot set a specific date for when the calling of Christians to the heavenly hope ends." - Watchtower 2007 May 1 (QFR)

Are YOU a JW parasite?
by The Fall Guy inevery single member of the worldwide order of special full-time servants of jehovah’s witnesses (yb16 p. 176 2015 grand totals) – which includes all of the governing body, all bethelites, every jw missionary, every circuit overseer, and all special pioneers – are worse than people without* faith!
because they have all signed a vow of poverty which renders them as parasites, living off other people's earnings.
where in the bible is that a “principle”?

A couple more thoughts......
I remember Daniel Sydlik telling the Bethel family in morning worship that we (bethelites) should never feel embarrassed for receiving gifts or hospitality from the publishers because we were working for the brothers (promoting false prophecies is considered work apparently).
Vacations, food, clothes, healthcare, tax free green handshakes, hospitality and even living rent free in the basement of hardworking, tax paying normal responsible people is actually expected in the minds of the Watchtower full time parasites.
Does anyone remember the Watchtower movie or drama where an elder/pioneer and his wife lived in the basement of a hardworking JW family? Or where a contractor fixed the roof for free on a Pioneers home? This idea of entitlement is actually promoted by the Watchtower cult leaders.
The vast majority of regular pioneers that I ever knew were leaching off the welfare system here in the U.S.A.
To all parasite pioneers......get a life and a real job!

The Watchtower produces a culture within their cult apart from the rank and file that actually works for a living.
These ones called full time service have been told that they are special and better than the regular publishers. Pioneer parasites is what I like to call them. The vast majority of full time servants have developed a feeling of entitlement and feel that the regular publishers should help them out with gas, food and even rent.
This is especially true with those in "special full time service". These include bethelites, special pioneers, circuit overseers and missionaries. Although regular pioneers are not included in full time service as they need to support themselves, nevertheless most, not all, have also developed the feeling of entitlement. Special full time servants have signed a vow of poverty and obedience and do not work.
Special full time servants receive housing, food, healthcare, monthly stipend, personal saving act (called pea for personal expense account). All this is provided for by the regular hard working publishers that are berated at conventions and meetings for working full time.
Being a pioneer parasite living off others and the government while feeling superior to them is a sad and depressing life.

Just amazing how they will join forces with "Babylon the great" when its convenient for them.
Instead of being bitter and upset at the hypocrisy and double standards of the Governing Body, I have learned to just laugh it off and admire their deceitful ways just like I do when I see movies about the mafia. This way I protect my sanity.
Can't wait for my wife to wake up from this evil cult as I will leave faster than a speeding bullet.

I agree with the posts. It all depends on your time in Bethel and position.
Example of different results because of time in bethel:
Example #1: John Foster slaved in Bethel for over 45 hrs. He was in a car wreck going to or from the Congregation meeting. He is wheelchair bound. He was allowed to stay as he has no family outside the cult and because of his many yrs. He slaved as the bindery overseer for many yrs and he was an self righteous asshole but thats for another story. He was featured in a JW broadcast.
Example #2: Brenda Upton was slaving (Both she and husband were chiropractors) in the Brooklyn cult compound for only a short time (less than 5 yrs?) and she got injured running to catch a bus to go to a Congregation meeting. The Watchtower sent her and her husband packing. She actually sued for workers comp and WON! I beleive she and her husband are in Washington last time I heard.

The cult leaders claim that they predicted the United Nations as the league of nations was inactive or gone into the "abyss". The cult leader Nathan H. Knorr gave a talk themed "Peace, can it last" in late September 1942 where he "predicted" the U.N.
Here are serious problems with that claim:
01.) The plans for a re-organized international body was announced in 01/01/1942. As a matter of fact, it was F.D.R. who coined the term "United Nations" as the new international body. 26 nations besides U.S. and GB pledged support for this re-organized international body to fight for peace. This event is called the "United Nations declaration". This was 8 months before cult leader Knorr "predicted the U.N.!!!!
Problem #2: The league of nations was not officially dissolved until 04/20/1946. This means it was never dead and then resurrected again as the cult claims.
Problem #3: The U.N. was officially ratified by 50+ nations in 1945. This means the league of nations overlapped (No pun intended) its existence with the newly organized U.N. They were both in existence at the same time. This does not coincide with the description in Revelation that it was completely dead and revived.
Of I go to a restaurant and order a steak, and I tell my wife that I am predicting that the waitress will bring me a steak and BOOM.....I have a steak brought to me....does that make me a prophet?

Why the Oxygen Special will not work like we think it will...
by HiddenPimo inwithin the very documentary is a reason i think that jw's for the most part will not wake up even if they watch this program.
the one lady actually saw as her family sat behind the abuser in court supporting him despite the established fact that he had abused their very own child.. this shows how deep the indoctrination is.
i am not saying that some won't wake up, but the majority will carry on, not even because they think these things are lies but because they will look past that at all costs to side with jehovah.

Hidden Pimo,
I agree to some extent with you. If anyone expects a mas exodus because of the Oxygen documentary, they will be sadly disappointed. However, this documentary will definitely help many wake up and at least become pimos and stop supporting the cult financially and by reaching out for slave labor (elders, pioneers, construction, bethel etc). Besides the information about the cover ups is available for anyone to see if they want to.
Another point that's VERY important is that the Oxygen documentary and many other media reports about the cults pedophile cover ups will prevent new members from joining. The only ones that are joining the cult are born ins and even then 66% end up leaving.
Rome wasn't built in 1 day. The Watchtower cult will unfortunately not go away immediately but it is losing its influence, control and credibility even amongst the die hard members.
Just like roaches are afraid of the light, the JW cult is afraid of information and education about their policies and history. Education will do them in eventually.
