  i spoke to the man who heads the ngo office at united nations headquarters.

  i will not release his name at this point because i was asked not to by the individual who gave me the contact information.

  is there any way to get a subscription to the magazines with out having to go to the hall??

  i would like to see what kinda stuff is in them these days.. just for fun:) an elder came by a few months ago and i asked if i could have a subscription and he said yes he would fill one out when i came to the hall to make a donation.. uugghh no way i am going there.. can anyone help me?

  is your anger with the jw religion due mainly to the fact that you have been df'd?

  is it possible that persons who post here who are not disfellowshipped can feel as angry as those who are being shunned and who are therefore being effectively gagged?.

  is the df'ing policy of the wtbts the main reason that ex-jw's seem to go all out to get other witnesses out of the org?

  To Kophagangelos...welcome to our discussion board. I am positive you will find the answers you are seeking right here on this board. There are many sincere people here who work hard looking for facts to prove the errors of the Watchtower Society.

  @Had Enough: Yes I hope to find the answer! I am very suspiciously! That is why I need the original proof and not the copy or the quoted explaination! I found the original letter of the elder and have copied it! I compared also the WT from the website of EXJW!

  The disturbing thing about ALL religions

  over the past couple of years i've been really questioning myself about why i have doubts about the wts and even the bible.. even though i've been raised as jw all of my life i've often felt that i was'nt really a religious person.

  unlike some of the people around me i just could'nt (and still can't) work up any excitement about the bible.. so after much thought i've come to the conclusion that the disturbing thing about all religions is that fear is emphasized more so than love.

  some might argue and say that the bible teaches just the opposite, some will no doubt think about the scripture "god loved the world so much that he sent his only begotten son".

  My opinion: I have conviction that Jehovah is the really person and not guilty for the corruption for the religion on the earth! He loves all mankind and I cannot understand the doctrine of WTS that the mankind on the world would die if they know not Jehovah! I cannot imagine that Jehovah will destruct all if he send his son on the earth to save the human if they want to believe him. Much people live good same JW and they have the chance to survive! Some details of the WTS are good because it is from the bible! That is the positive thing and I will keep it! the bibel is for me a source of the truth and not the doctrine of WTS!

  Is the UN 'scandal' the big one ?

  looking at the stats, there are well over 14,000 views of the thread about the un.

  the next 'most read' thread is around 9,500 so it is clearly a burning issue.. i wonder if the involvement with the un is the biggest threat to the wts?.

  they are getting badly burnt because of their covering up child abuse and www.silentlambs.org is doing a great job of raising the profile of this but even so, i can see the 'mental defense mechanism' of many jws excusing this as 'individuals imperfection'.. they cannot excuse the gb getting in bed with the un.

  i just got off the phone with a man in patterson concerning this issue and i will post most of convo here.. first of all if you do call beware they play kingdom melodies when you are on hold!.

  Here's my story (I'm new here)....

  i am a 4th generation witness (on both sides of the family) and indeed my entire family (save for the few who "fall away" in every family) are jehovah's witnesses.

  my dad is an elder, my mom a regular pioneer and my two elder sisters the same.

  my younger sister is 17 and still unbaptized, so therefore she is sort of a "black sheep" in our family and "spiritually weak" for not having already "taken the dip in the pool" (however, due to her overall open-minded nature, i am perhaps closest to her).

  I am not disfellowshipped! I am JW still! But I am very subcious of WTS after the report about UN! That is why I will observe further the WTS in this time very exactly! If a next step are clearly and I will stay out!
