Ray Franz repeat?
by zound inif one of the current governing body members pulled a ray franz and stepped down/got disfellowshipped then either wrote an expose or something else to go against the watchtower society - would they be forgiven and accepted by the ex-jw community?.
considering they have ray's example behind them i find it more deplorable that they continue in their paths, and personally would find it hard, though not impossible to forgive them - but am interested in everyones opinion....

That is one cool fantasy! Calling all governing body members: come over to our side, we would love to have you and all your inside information!

BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME.....let's rebuild!
by Terry inokay we've all beat our chest, lamented and throttled the dead horse of aawa.. time to move on!.
i suggest those of us on j-w.n who care about creating something the right way take the trouble to get the framework going.. let's do the grunt work and get the nattering, debates, naming and organizing already pre-approved so that "others" who have the talent, ability, motivation and resources can move in and turn the key!.
because it was not done before.. there is more wisdom on this discussion board in our vast numbers than there could possibly be in a virtual boardroom with 8 people brain-storming.. that isn't an insult--it is just a statistical fact!.

I am going to put together a flier next week. I have Pagemaker and it is very easy to use. I will post it and anyone, I do mean anyone (including aawa) can use it. Stay turned to this station for more updates.

I don't have a good title, just read it
by Honeybucket inlast night my husband and i watched a special on the history channel about the knights templar.
about two weeks before i showed my husband the 607/587 blunder.
first off, he didn't even know that 607 was relevant to jw teachings.

Being a JW is like being a Zombie. Eyes glazed over, going through the motions, not being allowed to think for yourself, etc.

Two questions to make one think
by Rufus T. Firefly inhow do you think the wtb&ts (and the average jw) would answer the following two questions?
how would you answer them?.
(1) can one be a genuine christian without being a jw?.
-
whathappened
As a JW I would answer both questions a no.
As an ex JW I would answer both questions a yes. (that 2nd one is tricky, but since JW's are not true Crhistians, they only think they are.)

How do I help someone who is manic-depressive?
by skeeter1 insomeone close to me is a jw, and manic -depressive (or so i think).. for several decades, this person has way overspent.
to the point of not having $50 at the end of the week.
he makes decent money (about $1,000 a week), lives at home (no real living expenses), and no dependents.

Don't give him a penny, tell him very nicely that you can not afford anything else at the moment and he has to return and any itmes he buys and get his money back. Too bad if he gets mad, he will take you down with him. They cannot help themselves, unfortuately.

A question for those still active as JWs
by Rufus T. Firefly infrom the sept. 15, 1981 watchtower, p. 23, par.
a person might renounce his place in the christian congregation by his actions, such as by becoming part of an organization whose objective is contrary to the bible, and, hence, is under judgment by jehovah god.
so if one who was a christian chose to join those who are disapproved of god, it would be fitting for the congregation to acknowledge by a brief announcement that he had disassociated himself and is no longer one of jehovahs witnesses.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

You are correct, Rufus T., they have been apostates all along. Theychange their interpretation of the scriptures at whim and expect the rank and file witnesses just to go along with anything the dish out as food at the proper time. Another poster here said yesterdays apostacy is todays food at the proper time.
This is why so many here have left the organisation.

This gives witnesses a false sence of security and keeps them loyal to the organization. So sad.
