The Watchtower Society could have written the book on corruption, couldn't it? That is an amusing observation.

was looking at their topics
by cptkirk innot sure if anyone said this on another thread, i'm sure they did, but it looks like the watchtower.org is gone, and they merged all of their sites into jw.org.. just thought it was funny that the first thing i see says "corruption--how widespread is it?
" any irony in them asking that?
like hi we know how many child molesters you have, we know what so many of your elders are doing in their private lives, we know you are holding inquisitions on just random poor fucks to make yourselves feel high and mighty.....hmm how widespread is corruption?

I am on Plenty of Fish, it's a free web site and is the largest free dating web site. I have been on for almost 2 years and haven't found anyone I dated for more than a couple of weeks.
I do find that telling them about my excape from a cult is a very good ice breaker. Everyone loves to hear about how awful Jehovah's Witnesses are and they are stunned to learn all the things that go on in the organisation that they never knew. Most people can't believe all the crazy rules. Don't be afraid to openly discuss this aspect of your life.
I have had no men reject me for my JW past.
The suggestions about joining groups and getting out is a good one. I am trying that also now, since I've had little luck on Match, eHarmony, SeniorPeopleMeet or Plentyoffish.
Good luck.

Teenage son's last WT comment. Major sphincter puckering on my part.
by Open mind ini thought maybe some of us might enjoy something light-hearted to start the week off.
at dinner last night my teenage son reminded me of the last kh meeting he attended with me about a year ago.
he is a big fan of christopher hitchins and self-identifies as an atheist.

Your boy has a brilliant sense of humor. Enjoyed the story. Wish this kind of thing happened more often at the Kingdom Hall.

As a JW - Did you See Meetings Continue in Spite of Medical Emergencies?
by flipper ini was talking the other day with a fellow board member about medical emergencies occuring at meetings and how we both agreed that we ( while jw's ) had never seen a meeting stop or be cancelled due to medical emergencies experienced by a fellow jw.
the wt society trains jw' s to lose their authentic human feelings or any empathy towards others physical or emotional sufferings many times.
so many times at meetings , in spite of someone suffering a serious medical emergency it was " the show must go on " type of attitude displayed by congregation elders.. my first experience at seeing a medical emergency at the kingdom hall was an older sister who had an epileptic attack.

whathappened
One time, my mother in law, who was disfellowshipped came to a district assembly that was being held at a sports arena. She of course sat way up high, away from everyone else. She had just gotten new bifocal glasses. During the session she got up to go to the restroom. She wasn't used to the new glasses, missed her step and fell down the concrete steps...blimp, blimp, blimp, blimp. It was horrible. My husband didn't realize at first that it was his own mother, because we were sitting much farther down in the same section. Needless to say, there was no disruption of the session. My husband helped her out to her car, bruised and battered, and returned to his seat. We thought at the time that we were such faithful Christians. He was an elder.
