When I was a young girl, I remember hoping that I wouldn't die a virgin, because I was worried I would never experience a sexual encounter and would "be like the angels" when I got resurrected. (I no longer have to worry about dying a virgin, thank goodness.)

Whoah...This is not sanctioned by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. These guys are in for trouble when the higher ups find out.

in re: wt payment, a question
by carla inbecause i think this would get lost on cedars many pages--- isn't there quotes in old wt's that state jw's are obligated to pay their debts and not to do so would be 'unchristian' or something?
i thought i had some fuzzy recollection of this perhaps i am wrong.
i thought there was something in the secret elder hounding book about a man who declares bankruptcy may not be fit for certain priveleges as well.. giving unto ceasar what is due him?

A problem with my daughter
by DATA-DOG inshould i try to dissuade my daughter from being baptized?
she doesn't seem to be in hurry.
all her " friends " are already baptized, some since early childhood which is ridiculous in my opinion.

She is your daughter for God's sake...yes, discourage her or even intervene if neccessary to keep her from making a huge mistake. If she were joining Scientology or the Moonies or the Mormons you would try to stop her, wouldn't you???

undubbed.com is closing down - grab some FREE WT FILES while you can
by nicolaou init never took off and with the impending launch of apostat.es it was looking out-of-date anyway.
i'll be converting it to host my new blog.
the new apostat.es site will be fully responsive (will work flawlessly on iphone, android and other tablet and mobile devices) and will have a purpose!.

I went on and there was nothing there. I couldn't get to any of the things the "Watchtower doesn't want you to know" file.

Hello everyone
by Strawberryfieldsforever ini have been trying to get on with my life without jehovah's witnesses and my mom.
just to let you know briefly about me......i was pretty much raised a jw by my mom.
she never let me know my dad because he was "worldly" and was going to die soon.

This was a needless trajedy. These horrible stories about broken families will never stop. That is why it is so important to get as many people out of this cult as we can.
I feel so bad for you. You will find many mother's here who have lost their daughters who will want to help you. You must be in your 40's by now, I'm guessing. You are young and you have to count the blessings that you have and try to live as happy a life as you can. If you don't, you have let the Watchtower Society cause you further misery.
Hope you take advantage of the support group you have here at JWN.

Could you live with not talking to your JW family for the rest of your life?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inone of greatest obstacles to leaving the organization is the destruction of the family unit.
as lady-lee wrote about oompa, i thought of this topic, the society says "this is their way to get wrong doing people to return to the loving arms of jehovah after they repent of their sins" .
i know of men and women who are in good standings and hate their fellow spiritual jw family, i am willing to bet, wager that "jw-hatred" exceeds the worlds hatred, something about a self-assured group versus the "not so self assured' creates one plucked up structure.

Oh, some of these posts here are so sad. What pain this religion is causing people all over the world. Every family is at one time or another touched by this ridiculous shunning.
My mother in law and father in law were df'd for smoking in 1974. They rarely if ever saw thier 3 children or 5 grandchildren. We all thought we were showing tough love and that Jehovah would judge us adversely if we had anything at all to do with them.
My only daughter knows exactly how I feel about "the truth." We had another hour and a half discussion about it Friday night. I am not df'd or da'd, but she knows she is supposed to not talk about apostate things with me. She assures me that she will never shun me. How blessed I am for having such a sweet girl. I hope she doesn't change her mind. Her husband would like me never to associate with the familyagain, fearful I will pull my daughter out, but he has not forbid it so far. I have a 4 year old grandson who loves me as I love him. I don't want to even think about losing them from my life forever. It would be horrible for me.

For those of you who were die hard JW's, did you ever think...
by TweetieBird inyou would find yourself on this side of the fence?.

I would have given my life for that cult. I said if I ever found out it wasn't the truth, I didn't want to live. (I was wrong...life is great out of the organisation.)

Dear Lady Lee,
At least some good news here tonight about your oldest daughter. Perhaps your younger daughter will come to her senses. You never know when something will happen to her and she will wake up.
Have you tried a holistic approach to your depression and negative thoughts? I am able to control it very well with suppliments from the health food store. Of course, I can't compare the two of us, and of course, you have to decide for yourself what is the best treatment for you.
I wish you all the best and appreciate your sharing your feelings and experiences with us. OOMPA's tragedy affected us all. Thanks.

I agree 100% with BluesBrother's consice and presice answer: "Some positives, from being part of a group .....but nothing that could not have been obtained elsewhere without the cost of total dedication to their crackpot theology...I also say that Magwich's excellent testimony was the exception rather than the rule"
