Doc...in our area it is Dunkin Donuts. Every Saturday morning it is full of Witnesses, there is no place to sit down. They come in mini vans so they don't really have to make many calls.

many are in survival mode.
even at the convention the appearance of the majority was unhappy and tired.

russell emphasized the developement of christian qualities, where are bro rutherford changed the focus to christan works.
the question i have is, is this change dirrectly commented on in print or is it seen in more anecdotal evidence?.

he mentioned it on the last sunday talk.
i always wondered if any letter sent to bethel ever reached gb eyes.

I am sure he doesn't write his own talks...the writing department writes them. I am also sure he doesn't read any incoming mail as they have "spiritually qualified brothers" who do that.

September Offer
by Quarterback inwell, now that we had an outstanding august, an extention to aux pioneer in september is being offered.
you can offer the jw.org tract again, and again, and again.
offer it at the dr's office, the gym, the laundromat, the theatre, the bus stops, etc.

Dad called on my birthday
by StAnn intoday is my birthday.
i'm beyond caring about birthdays (i'm 51) but my dad, who is a non-jw married to my crazy jw mother, usually doesn't acknowledge us kids on our birthdays so as not to piss off my mom.
actually, he has never acknowledged my birthday.

The elders are 'letting me fade'
by TableForOne ini attended my last meeting in january 2014, having realised that i'd been lied to for 20+ years (i'm now 43 y/o).
rumours spread of my 'apostasy'.. in may, cobe contacted me inviting me to a private meeting with elders at the kh.
(no mention of the meeting being a jc).

Fading, Stopping Meetings, DA or DF'ing, Thoughts on Getting the Hell Out Of There
by OnTheWayOut inso i read some threads about why someone remains a ministerial servant or elder, or why they are still active jw's.
others are telling stories about how they cut back slowly, and some of them got removed as ms/elder/pioneer or whatever.
yet others tell of how they just up and stopped going one day.

My sister, my nephews and I all quit cold turkey. We just couldn't do the slow fade thing...as it seems so hypocritical. Yes, it did cause a stir and some people are hurt, but none of us has been called in for a JC so we are all happy. It has been well over three years for all of us. So far so good. We are shunned by most in our old Kingdom Halls but that is an acceptable trade off.
