i noticed that in paragraph 13 they mention the girl sheryl that i believe was the same girl that was in their video about the typhoon that hit the philippines back in 2013. they talk as if she's so happy and thankful to jehovah even mention that she lost most of her family in that typhoon.
what they don't mention was her family members that were killed in that typhoon were inside a kh thinking they were going to be protected by jehovah since they were in gods house and his people and all.
they also fail to mention that the government authorities were telling people to get out of town but the elders were most likely telling the people in their congregations to stick around and just come to the hall.
for those who have left and are still in contact with jw family, how do you usually respond when they bring up jw stuff, i.e.
start talking about the nearness of armageddon or things like that.. i usually say nothing and just let it pass but i'm considering changing tact to something more confrontational, less because i want to change their mind and more because i find it tiresome.
thoughts?
Don't be confrontational, PLEASE! This is your fleh and blood.
When they start talking about JW STUFF, respectfully ask a question you know they can't answer such as where in the Bible does it say which blood fractions are acceptable? Or say that you are a bit surprised about Jw.TV. because the society has always dissed televanglizers, for example. Keep it light.
hey guys,.
so, something amazing happened recently.
i recently met with an old and very good friend of mine.
i've been invited to go to central america for a week on a global village project.
.
are there any possible issues that the congregation might have with me doing this?.
The brothers would say this is energy and resources you should be directing to furthering "God's Kingdom Interests," aka free labor to further the interests of the publishing/real estate corporation known as the Watchtower Society.
You will be shunned and seen as unsuitable association should you even "think" about doing this!
i thought it would be important to clearly point in the recent talk by governing body member stephan lett, that he did in fact deliberately lie concerning what he described as lies and false information by apostates, concerning the organization being permissive toward people in the organization who had been involved in pedophilia.
the truth of the matter is thats exactly what the organization has been doing and perhaps for a long time.
the recent candace conti law suit where she was awarded 28 million dollars was levied against the wts for its irresponsible behavior by the elders who gave no notification of the accused jonathan kendrick that he had been charged with pedophilia and spent months in jail for his actions .
Is this theocratic warfare...lying about people who are telling the truth to keep the organizations followers in the dark about the problems within that prove they are not God's earthly visible organization?
They certainly don't want the anyone knowing about where their monetary contributions are going!
well, this is a new development.
she broached the subject of ttatt tonight.
said i was right about the flood.
i'm new here but not new to researching and questioning the jw beliefs.
i have quite a story.... one that's been haunting me for awhile... but first, i'd like to hear what people have to say about this topic question, please.. -gigi.
This youtube entry is well worth spending the time it takes to listen. Very funny and full of "ahah" moments.

It is Julia Sweeny's "Letting Go of God." It has helped many people I know, as it helped me.
today i added a new article to my blog that shares a bit of astounding evidence of just how ridiculous it is for a jw to tell anyone anywhere that jws abstain from transfusion of blood, and plasma in particular.
this article is based on two studies authored by medical staff at duke university's center for blood conservation, a program that is heavily touted by the active "noblood" crowd among jws.
one of these studies contains a real whopper of a piece of information!
as many of you know, i've been out of the organization for about a month now.
the elders haven't shown an interest in my absence until now.
today, i have received phone calls from two elders as well as a friend.
