Cult of Personality
by iamwhoiam init's funny how when you are able to take a step back an look at the big picture...you start to notice things that are just a bit wierd.. for instance...at the meeting the other night, we all sang song number 58 (notice the first verse).
then look at the songs in the rest of the songbook...and you will see that verses of this nature are in pretty much every other song.
keep singing these over and over at the kh and you begin to memorize them and eventually find yourself singing or humming them later without realizing it.

Today's Lesson (Too funny)
by iamwhoiam inwt 12/15 2010 koolaid edition p. 11 paragragh 17.
"rather than feel frustrated or discouraged because jehovah's day seems to be delayed, we should be glad that there is still time for us to be zealous for true worship.".
since the future and the past do not exist except as concepts in the now, than how can knowing what is to come even possible?.

Background Checks????
by iamwhoiam ini was talking to an elder friend of mine.
he says they got a letter in that makes it more strict for a brother to reach out as an ms. if there was ever a letter written on the prospected brother regarding past wrongdoing, he is now practically turned down without question by the circuit overseer.
elder friend said society may even impliment background checks on anyone reaching out.

WTBS questions education? Hmm...I wonder
by iamwhoiam inhere is a great (very realistic) quote.... in 1914, john alexander smith, professor of moral philosophy at oxford, addressed the first session of his two-year lecture course as follows: gentlemen, you are now about to embark on a course of studies that (will) form a noble adventure...let me make this clear to you...nothing that you will learn in the course of your studies will be of the slightest possible use to you in after life save only this that if you work hard and intelligently, you should be able to detect when a man is talking rot, and that, in my view, is the main, if not the sole purpose of education.. so, is the wbts afraid of people becoming educated?.

Favorite quote from 2011 School for Ministerial Servants
by iamwhoiam in"let's see a show of hands of those who know that the end is very close (everyone raises thier hands while looking around at each other).
excellent!...we know this because we have a whole-hearted faith in the faithful and discreet slave don't we?".
no explanation needed .

What made this so controversial?
by iamwhoiam inwhat was so controversial about this that it was left out of more than one manuscript?.
this is taken from john 8:1-11 of the nwt.
* manuscripts ?bsys omit verses 53 to chapter 8, verse 11, which read (with some variations in the various greek texts and versions) as follows:.

Did Paul write Luke?
by iamwhoiam inluke 1:1-4 (nwt).
1whereas many have undertaken to compile a statement of the facts that are given full credence among us,2just as those who from [the] beginning became eyewitnesses and attendants of the message delivered these to us,3i resolved also, because i have traced all things from the start with accuracy, to write them in logical order to you, most excellent theoph ilus,4that you may know fully the certainty of the things that you have been taught orally.. act 1:1,2 (nwt).
1the first account, o theoph ilus, i composed about all the things jesus started both to do and to teach,2until the day that he was taken up, after he had given commandment through holy spirit to the apostles whom he chose.. just curious.
