Kristen, I don't know if anyone has pointed this out to you yet, but that song you quote isn't new. It was first released in 1976. Before your time?

I know that Landslide was from the 70s. In my first post I was on two trains of thought, one being how Landslide made me feel, and the other asking if anyone's heard any of her new songs from her new album yet. My crossed thoughts may give off the wrong impression, but now you all know what I was thinkin'. Oh, and I was very much alive in 1976–it was the year after armageddon came.

I think many could qualify for this just based on all the previous reading of the WTBTS literature and books alone! Ha, I remember so much *counsel* against subscribing to worldly magazines and such when there was so much
spiritual food to consume through the society's magazines and books.
At least now I read what I want to. And no more discreetly wrapped magazines coming in the mail.
My guilt quotent went way down when the subs ran out. I wonder if there is any connection.

i didn't know where to post this--it's just a funny experience i had today.. i planted two new rose bushes and went out to put the hose on them this morning before work.

a medium-sized bird swooped down and hit me lightly in the back.

later at noon i went out to change the hose and the bird swooped at me twice--i didn't think i'd make it out of the yard!

LOL, Six.
Speaking of voices... I like her version of Landslide better than Billy Corgan's. Although I do like the Pumpkins in certain moods.
I haven't heard any of her new songs from the new album yet. I hope they're good.

Birthday/baby shower?

yesterday, my six year old figured out that a birthday is a celebration of your day of birth.

i didn't realize she hadn't made that connection yet (she's a bit fuzzy headed sometimes, but cute as can be).

then she states, "so when you get presents for a baby bfore it is born, that is the babies first birthday".

Oh, I just love those QFR's from the 50's! I noticed the words control and regulate quite a few times. Hmmm, it's no wonder why some witnesses are so uptight.

Can you tell us a little bit about your taste in reading material Kristen?

Introspection,
I'm open to almost anything. The short stuff that makes you think a lot has the most appeal to me. Fiction is something I haven't given much consideration to, but agree with MD that it could help open the doors of perception. Stepping out of 'reality' might do me some good right now.
But don't offer recommendations based only on my tastes–I know so many others glean from the discussion too. So whatever works for you, please share!

Isn't it amazing at how music can time stamp our memory? When we hear the song again we relive the experiences over again. Thanks for sharing, yeah, Stevie is great.
