I hate that it starts so late. The JW's are trying to find way to discredit him now... I wonder if he'll say anything. I sent him the link yesterday. It's too late, I'll have to hear the recording.
Details? What are you referring to, Phigment2?

Regarding Compent Use Of The Bible In Field Service. JWs or XJWs Only Please.
by AvocadoJake indear brothers and sisters, i watched a disturbing video on youtube of this born-againer beating the hell out of some old timers in utah( i think.
) and his conduct was hideous, not christlike one bit.
the question i pose to you is this, how many jws were you truly impressed by their use of the bible?

Most Jehovah's Witnesses just want to get away from the door as fast as possible. Taking the time to educate someone with Scripture counters that goal. In my experience, they'd rather get magazines into the hands of the house-holder, and get back in the car before they can be turned down. This way, they can relate about what an awesome experience they had in Service, and can pretend "this person is really interested in The Truth!" Then, unfortunately for them, they never 'catch' the person home again.

...and to be fair, this was always a pet peeve of mine before I was woken up. I would venture to say that the vast majority of Jehovah's Witnesses have never even read The Bible from cover-to-cover, or even The New Testament, let alone be 'skilled' at using it to convince anyone of anything.
Most Jehovah's Witnesses just learn enough about The Bible to defend the doctrine specific to the group, rather than learning the Scriptures intimately.

Are you sure The Bible is "The Word of God"?

JW Survey Idea
by dontplaceliterature ini was thinking on my way home from work today how it would be possible to distribute a link for cedars' survey without putting myself in a position to be "outed" as an apostate.
i wonder if anyone in this community has the tech-skills to spam jehovah's witness e-mail addresses with a link to it.
i'm not sure if this is ethically sound, but i don't see why it wouldn't work.

I have sincere doubts about the possibility for this to spread to anyone who is the typical active Jehovah's Witness (and those are the only people the Governing Body is interested in).
Even as a "Conscious Class" member, there is no way in hell I would tell a soul in my congregation about that survey, even though I would like to. The risk of being connected to "apostates" is too great.
I hope it finds its way, but I remain skeptical that it will - not without some sort of neutral or anonymous distribution.

Worldly Kids at a Bus Stop - I see why JWs home school!
by skeeter1 inthis morning as i was driving back home from putting rug rat #2 in pre-school, i saw one middle-school boy throw another kid into some thorny bushes at our local bus stop.
the kid sailed through the air and landed face down.
i stopped to see what had gone down.

It was like that when I was in Junior High and High School just 15+ years ago. I went to a small rural school. I can't imagine things have gotten any better. However, kids behaved the worst on the bus. The bus drivers don't make a ton of money and never seemed to want to put the effort into maintaining order - so they got walked on. Most of the kids that got expelled/suspended had gotten into some altercation on the bus or at the bus stop, not at school. Things were totally different during class, and between classes.

I wonder if anyone in this community has the tech-skills to spam Jehovah's Witness e-mail addresses with a link to it. I'm not sure if this is ethically sound, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. You would need to include something in the subject line that referred to "The Organization" or "The Brothers", etc. in order to get someone to actually open it. There should be some brief message as to the intent of the survey, that would not totally freak every single person out that reads it.
We could compile a list of Jehovah's Witness e-mail addresses by setting up an anonymous submission database on a website.
I'm not sure if anyone has considered this or not, already. Cedars can testify that I have doubted the long term purpose/meaningfulness of the survey. This could be a way to get it into more hands, and stir up some gossip about it among the congregations. Perhaps it would even drive a Local Needs talk, or a mention at a Circuit Assembly.
Thoughts?
