Elder Using Innuendos at Every Single Opportunity
by Tempest in a Teacup inthere's this elder in my hall.
in his comments and talks, he loves to include the kind of details that would leave listeners wondering who his comment/talk is about.
he seems to see himself as a jw behaviour expert and drops titbits whenever he's behind the mic.

A few months ago I reconnected with an ex elder from my old congregation who suddenly vanished with his whole family. He told me why I was never going to be an elder in their congregation: another elder said I needed to be closely watched since sisters seem to like me a little too much...hey I am no babe magnet, but I can't help it when the CO's wife I grew up with hugs and kisses me when they visited our congregation. I was married to the first girl I officially dated, we were chaste until our wedding night and I never cheated on her during our 40 plus years of marriage...this elder's opinion was hindered my progress in the congregation and I finally gave up on wanting to be an elder. When after decades of being a MS I finally was given the responsabilities of an elders as the last step before being appointed, I woke up and left the cult. Who knows what might have happened if this elder hadn't spoken his innuendos. -

Brother so and so doesn't accept counsel
by hoser ini am not sure if anyone else here heard this phrase.
i did from a circuit overseer when i was a servant many moons ago.
with my newly enlightened mind i finally understand what this means.

Brother so and so is running ahead of the organisation...he needs to learn humility. It can only be a great idea when we are told so from the slave. In the meantime let's bring him in the back room and crush his spirit with judicious counsel from "mother". -

Received my first birthday gift at 59...My daughter sent it at my office not to upset my JW wife. I started crying...work mates asked if I was OK! When I told them what had happened they were shocked.
Last week I was at a team dinner out of town and a birthday cake came to our table. I didn't know anyone had a birthday until the cake was placed in front of me and the guys started singing happy birthday NVR2L8..we usually pull this prank on rookies but the guys said they heard I never celebrated my birthday and they wanted to be the first to celebrate with me...awesome group of people.

jw.org cart days numbered?
by jookbeard inreading a report of an elder in a friends cong has been hiding and spying on the pioneers who seem to have a practise of dumping the cart and finding a local coffee shop, i've noticed that they do this in my local high street as well but this week they seemed to be all huddled around the cart, they've clearly been warned, a vast percentage of the time i see they seem to be more interested in fiddling with their mobile phones and gossiping, is just seems these carts are a means for the pioneers to turn in "easy time" i wonder what sort of figures show how much literature is being taken by the public?
i bet its very minimal.
naturally the gb would say they are a phenomenal success , we clearly know they are not.

Recently I visited Seoul South Korea and saw a much larger display of JW literature that would equate to about 4 or 5 carts wide and the couple middle aged publishers were approaching people walking by at the entrance of a very busy high-end shopping area frequented by tourists. Police officers were watching from a distance. I attempted to talk to them but they didn't speak English so they offered me English publications. I told them I was a JW by pointing at them and me...I assume they understood because the man shook my hand with a big smile. Locals didn't seem to pay much attention to them and the fact they had publications in foreign languages may indicate they are targeting tourists. -

I only found out years after when I left the cult. I live 600 km away from my daughter and as a good little JW I had little to do with her when she disassociated herself. I didn't know why she disassociated herself and later assumed it was because she moved in with her new boyfriend. What an ass I was.

My own daughter was dated raped by a JW who was engaged to be married. She went to the elders but the guy denied it saying my daughter was obsessed by him and trying to break his engagement. She was put on restrictions and he was married at the Kingdom Hall...2 years later he admitted having sex with my daughter...no apology from the elders who didn't believe my daughter. And they didn't understand why she disassociated.! -

Fading and not "outing" yourself, what are your thoughts on it?
by Brock Talon infading and not "outing" yourself.. what are your thoughts on it?.

Everyone is in a different situation and no one else can judge what's better for you. I successfully faded because the alternative would totally destroy my aged mother. My sister and younger brother who's an elder still talk to me and I am welcomed in their home. They are aware of why I am no longer active. On the other hand my wife is still active and I suspect that one day the elders may turn their attention to me...at that time I may have to officially break up from the controlling cult. -

JW literature cart spot pinched by another church group!
by stuckinarut2 insooooo funny!.
the spot that is used by the local cong in our town for the literature cart has been taken over by another church group!.
the witnesses arrived to set up, and another group was in the exact same spot, with a table, and brochures and a sign..... it will be a great thing as it dilutes the effectiveness of the witness activity, by making it look confusing to the local town people!.....

What did you become after leaving Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Garrett inhey guys,.
so, since my leaving i have been doing so much research on so many topics that it's been extremely enlightening.
not only have i learned a lot about the organization and what motivates it, but i have also learned a lot about the bible, god and most importantly, myself.. currently, i'm not quite sure where i stand, but i'm having some real issues with the bible and god.
