Anyone who believe they can sway the governing body of the Jehovahs witness by writing a letter can't be taken seriously! Either they have no idea how this cult works or they are not aware of their history. Even the killing of JWs in Malawi didn't get the JW to recognize they had made an error in judgement telling the brothers not to buy the government mandatory ID card...Meanwhile the WT had no problems with the brothers bribing Mexican officials to avoid military service. Your letter will be filed in folder 13...The WT can't be reformed but you can...just leave and live your life.

i don't know who the representative is, no names, no face, i cut and past it from some website.

I believe it was 1986 when the UN declared the year of peace and the WT called out other religions for attending related events...there were even pictures of this in the WT. Meanwhile they don't have any issues meeting in secret and being associated with the image of the beast.

anyway when i first came here, that little picture that "the rebel" hides behind, was a self portrait of a very sad man, who simply had too much knowledge.
now i feel after 7 months here, i should repaint that " avetor" give some happiness to the eyes, and a contented smile to the lips.. in short my " avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge.

I am in the same situation as Lied2NoMore. I have been inactive for almost 6 years but my wife continues to go to the meetings and is more active than when I was a MS. After almost 2 years away, the elders attempted a shepherding call and I told them to leave me alone. That was it. As far as having religious discussions with my wife, it is totally useless to attempt any type of reasoning with someone who has totally surrendered their brain to the cult. I have long stopped bringing up anything about the cult and our everyday life has been harmonious. -

Like StephaneL I studied with boys who's fathers weren't a JW and it was something encouraged and viewed by the elders as a sign that I was reaching out to become an elder. In my wife's family a relative studied with his nefiew and abused him in the boy's house until one day when the boy's mother walked in and caught him in the act. Of course all was swept under the rug and nothing was done to help the boy who has since been struggling emotionally. In my area an elder abused young boys when they accompanied him to KHall builds. I personally recall hundreds of occasions when I spent days in service alone with an adult that wasn't a parent...The false feeling of security provides a perfect environment for abusers.

Resolutions at Kingdom Hall
by sieborg inanyhow i got to thinking today about my days in the borg and the resolutions that would intermittently be made in the announcements for co visit expenses, sending a donation to society www fund etc.
my point is that while i was in (almost thirty two years) i never once saw anyone put up their hand to vote against a resolution that the body of elders proposed.
on a couple of occasions i heard a few hushed murmurs but i never saw one person vote against.

The same goes when elders have to make decisions for congregational matters...if one or two disagree they usually vote with the majority so the body can claim the vote was unanimous. Being a dissident is never well seen in the congregation or in the body of elders.

My 14-year-old niece is being disfellowshipped
by keyser soze ini was contacted by my ex sister-in-law yesterday.
she asked me if i wanted to spend some time with my niece, while she went to her sister's baby shower.
it turns out my niece can't go because she's about to be disfellowshipped at the ripe old age of 14. .

not all JW's are asleep
by Damascus ini am an 'active' jw but i do not agree with most of the doctrines inc blood, baptism, the memorial etc etc.i took the emblems at the memorial because i think we all should recognise and accept jesus' command to remember him.
not for one minute do i think this is only for the so called anointed.
i know it is full of man made error and that my fellow brothers and sisters are in a state of mindless, spiritual unawareness.
