Printing presses, bye... bye...
by sp74bb inbye... bye.... no more new printing presses for jw.org... the growth is so tremendous (irony...).. all printing work in europe will be arrange in the next month only in selters (germany), but no renovation or upgrading in printing presses is expected... it will be a full outsourcing :).
a worldly company axel s******* will be used.
this company is known to be printing bild newspaper... the interesting part of it is the logistics will be as well outsourced.

First exchange in years about JW religion with my wife...
by NVR2L8 intoday my wife showed me the new medical directive and power of attorney form she got at the meeting.
surprisingly she asked if i wanted to fill mine!
i have been inactive for 6 years and i don't go close to any jw gatherings because i don't want friends who only care for me unless i share their beliefs.

My wife occasionally jokes about her carnivorous appetite which is a hint for me to grill a couple of juicy steaks on the barbecue. Although the bovine has been bled, we all know that every trace of blood hasn't been flushed out of the meat. But I won't even attempt to bring this up. Thanks Vanderhoven for reminding me the illustration about abstaining from meat shouldn't prevent you from accepting a kidney transplant.

"how awful it must be to be dying as an apostate!"
by purrpurr ini heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.
this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital, dying as an apostate!
knowing that you have no hope!?

If I had stayed the "truth" I would have only existed, but now that I have left I'm truly living. How sad it is to hear JWs say the "real life" is still to come while they are wasting the only life there is.

"New light" on who will put the “mark” during the “great tribulation” (Wt june 2016)
by redpilltwice inthree days ago, we could read about a great new book on wt doctrinal changes here: .
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6217992945795072/ever-changing-teachings-jehovahs-witnesses-probably-most-comprehensive-compendium-about-watchtower-doctrinal-changes.
this book is not the only one in its kind, but it truly kicks ass!

Were there heavenly forces involved in the destruction of Jerusalem - same forces used at Armageddon as stated in the WT quote? I always thought it was the Roman army...

How to wind up a JW
by slimboyfat intell him that jesus probably didn't get married or it would have mentioned it in the bible, but at the same time we can't be 100% sure he didn't get married because it doesn't specifically say he didn't get married.
stand back watch fireworks.. i thought it was a pretty reasonable thing to say.
pop.

I get the reasoning: if Jesus was married it would certainly be written in the scriptures, so because it isn't mentioned we can assume that he remained single; or: if the scriptures do not mention that Jesus was single we can assume that he was married. Both assumptions have the same merrit...they are both ASSUMPTIONS.

DOC
That's exactly what I said but instead of understanding that you no longer can claim that you are abstaining from blood if you accept fractions, she said that she will not accept fractions anyways...so problem solved. So instead of questioning the change in policy she instead avoids any form of critical thinking by sticking to the strictest application of the JW rule.

CTRWTF...like my wife you missed the point...so I'll try this: doctor says to abstain from ethanol...meaning you can't drink it nor inject it in your body...does it mean you can't fuel your car with gasoline containing ethanol? In theory with JW you wouldn't be allowed to like you shouldn't use plywood bonded with glue containing animal blood.

Thanks for your comment. I like my position as an inactive JW because most of my close family are very involved in the cult and I can still have some kind of relationship with them. If you read my story you will find out that I bought a house where I can have my unbaptized son, his JW wife and grandchildren under my roof so I can technically interact with them if one day I am banished by the group. I already told the elders to leave me alone when they came to my house unannounced 2 years after I stopped going to the meetings. So I refrain from telling them off for these reasons and I want to leave on my own terms.

Today my wife showed me the new medical directive and power of attorney form she got at the meeting. Surprisingly she asked if I wanted to fill mine! I have been inactive for 6 years and I don't go close to any JW gatherings because I don't want friends who only care for me unless I share their beliefs. So when I declined she asked what would happen in case of an emergency. I told her I would trust the doctors to provide the best medical care to save my life. She said that she would prefer dying than talking blood or even blood fractions. I told her I used to agree with her but the numerous changes in the blood policies of the WT raised doubts in me that these were human rules and not divine. Her reply was that accepting fractions is a conscience matter to which I said accepting other components of blood should be the same. Can you show me in the bible where it says which blood fractions are acceptable and which are forbidden? Does abstaining from blood means more than not eating it? I gave her the example of abstaining from alcohol doesn't prevent you from using some as a disinfectant...to this she replied: ALCOHOL YOU DRINK IS NOT THE SAME AS ALCOHOL YOU USE TO DISINFECT A WOUND. After such a poorly reasoned answer I chose to end the conversation. My only concern now is that she tells an elder that I won't fill in the medical directive and that they start asking questions.
On a positive note we managed to keep our cool but all hopes of reasoning with her are gone...she can only repeat the WT brainwashed bull shit.

From yesterday WT, don't have kids and if you do then don't see them often nor the grandkids either
by purrpurr inunbelievable paragraph in yesterday's watchtower was "encouraging" the sheep to not have kids.
most of their growth comes from the born ins and they are still on about not having kids?.
then it went on to "encourage" those that do have kids or grandkids not to spend to much time with them and instead to spend their time serving kingdom interests!.

My son, wife and 2 children live in our house and we are really happy to see our grandchildren everyday. We got married in 73 and had our first child in 76...some relatives didn't attend our wedding because the end was so near and we should have waited...then 2 kids...I don't know how life would be without our family.
