  The Case for Theism

  "theism" here means "belief in a god" or "the worldview that an intelligent designer created the universe and life.

  " ("god" here means a being with a mind who initiated and/or wound-up the universe, and designed life on earth)the most common claim that i see atheists making on twitter, is that "no evidence" exists in support of belief in a god.this post will remove any excuse atheists have for claiming "no evidence exists" in support of an initiator.

  atheists can still reject this evidence as "weak," but they cannot truthfully say it does not exist.now, it is true that we do not have "observable, repeatable, falsifiable, empirical, scientific" evidence conclusively proving that an initiator exists, but we do have many lines of philisophical, experiential, and logical evidence.and... here... we... go:1:) many leading scientists, including stephen hawking, say that the space-time-matter universe had a beginning at the singularity/big bang.

  I don't like the atheist label because it was given by the very theists.

  Being a negative it gives the self evident status to theism.

  Best Argument for Atheism - In your view.

  if crisis of conscience is one of the top watchtower doctrine killers, what is the coc of theism?.

  i'd like to read a book, or other material that does the best job logically arguing for atheism.. i've not read any darwin, however it is my assumption that his focus is primarily on evolution, is this correct?

  if you were to recommend one book or a few pieces of reading material, which do the best job of defending atheism, what would they be?.

  i started posting on the ex community about five years ago since two of my children have remained under the jw spell.

  back then i had little tangible hope of seeing the downfall of the org.

  i now see evidence of big cracks forming in their hermetic carapace..

  33 yo. I think my childhood was the happiest period of my life even though I was raised as a JW. But you need more than a cult to destroy the happy mental frame of a child. I'm not see the world as happy or sad anymore.

  Rational Buddhism?

  Rebirth it's not just something that happens when you die. It happens all the time. At every moment you are a little different from the past moment. We aren't a thing but a bunch of things. The illusion of continuity between one moment to the other it's called rebirth. At the moment of death it's only a drastic change for your karma (cycle of thought patterns ). Buddhism does not say your consciousness will survive the death experience. It says the impulse of your karma will be the cause for another being arise to existence. This new being will inherit the impulse of your thought patterns. But anyway you can use the concept of rebirth to your daily experience and not to something beyond your death. The fact is you die and reborn at every second of this existence. Just try to be aware of that. Forget anything about your clinical death because it will be an event outside of your life. Pay attention to your every second death.

  There's no reincarnation in buddhism.

  Theravada school is the less mystical one.

  Tibetan buddhism is a kind of syncretism with the Bo religion. They have a different Buddha called Padmasambhava.

  I really like all schools of thought from buddhism.
