I think they could be more tolerant about clothing in the hot summertime and in tropical climates. They could allow the brothers wear some kind of social boardshorts for example. Why in hell someone have to wear an effing suit beneath the very eye of the sun?

Why don't they adapt to other cultures? (an American religion?)
by hijosdelawatch ini guess the majority of you haven't noticed that being an american, canadian, british, australia... (being involved in the anglosaxon culture) but there are situations in other cultures that make jws seem a bit bizarre.. since the watchtower is quite rigid and bureaucratic, it's reluctant to adapt to different cultures.
so sometimes even the brothers feel very uncomfortable adopting all this "watchtower culture" and even not knowing what to do in some situations.. for example, here in spain women keep their maiden names.
but for some reason, it's the watchtower culture to adopt a particular system.

Atheiests....Did you enjoy the book In Search of Christian Freedom?
by Diest ini was not in the mood to be a christian, even before reading coc.
do you think there is a benifit to reading iscf?
did it solve much about the jws in your mind?.

I read (part of) the book when I already was an atheist, and I was surprised about the logical fallacies. I was wondering if RF could be an atheist itself, because it's very odd to a christian to discuss LF, 'cause using that very method to deconstruct the WT system you can use the same method to every kind of religion, if you keep self honesty. That's very weird to me.

The Control is simply amazing
by outsmartthesystem inat the kind advice of so many of you (and hassan) on this board....i ceased attempting to discuss doctrine/failures with my wife many months ago.
but unfortunately that does not prevent her from grilling me from time to time.
during one of our infamous "discussions" she said she was going to "investigate" this supposed "proof" that is out there regarding 587bc.

Revelation 19:1, 2 since it uses "voice of" they can argue that is not the same great crowd.
I have used that text often and really is very effective! Truly they always argue in this way, but then just toss the ball and ask to show where in the bible are written the great crowd are in earth. They will get more nervous after that...
And you can add that you have showed in the bible a direct quote that says the great crowd are in heaven but they cannot do the same about the great crowd being in the earth.

What is truth?
by mankkeli inand i dont want to see the dictionary definition of the word, as the word is merely a label, and the definition is merely a description of the word.. .
i want to discuss the concept of truth, as there is alot hiding behind the mere label.. .
to start off with, is truth merely when we come to agreement, and stop questioning?

My mother also got in to the Borg when I was 4. It's very hard to be a born-in.

The JW's and the e-smoking
by John_Mann ini just achieved an electronic pipe wich is virtually identical to a conventional one.
but it not produce smoke, no burning, no hazard substances, just steam.
it's quite similar to a nebulization, nothing more.

Why I Shouldn't Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth
by XJW4EVR inwhen i was a jw, the key issue that caused me to doubt the wt was the trinity.
the wtb&ts's blatent misquotations and misrepresentations of religious scholarship to fit their anti-trinitarian presuppositions are horrid and inexcusable.
that issue, however, was not the issue that caused me to become a christian.

Use the same method you used to unmask the Watchtower and you'll see why I (and anyone else) Shouldn't Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.
