I am a New England girl. Pretty much have it all here. Close to big and small cities, the beach, the mountains. Four seasons to keep it interesting. Anywhere else, probably France or Italy because I would have the same options and they both have great food.

Rutherford's wife, why the info blackout?
by VM44 inrutherford ruled the watchtower organization from 1916 to 1942, traveled extensively, had several residences, most notably, beth sarim.
but absent always was his wife, mary, not to mention his son, malcolm as well.. ok, rutherford was so well known, why did no one inquire about his son and wife?.
when rutherford resided at beth sarim in san diego, why was his wife not there with him?

Please help.... depressed jw teen
by huniepie ini think i’m going insane.... i’m 17 years old and being raised in a jw household.
i really want friends and a boyfriend but i can’t have that because my parents are jw and i’m also homeschooled.
they are those jw parents that refuse to let me go to public school because of bad influences.

A couple of questions. Are you close to completing your homeschooling with a high school diploma? That would be a great goal. Is it possible for you to pursue part time employment outside the home to make extra money and save (non jw employment)? Also, have you ever asked your parents about pursuing any type of education after finishing your homeschooling to be able to be self-sufficient within the realms of what jw's deem as ok. This might be a wait to get a step out the door so to speak. I feel for you. I was you. I was homeschooled from the age of 8. Baptized early and isolated from all outside influences. But I was able to first attend a local community college and that was the stepping stone I needed to find my way away from the organization. It wasn't always easy and it was a long tedious journey but it was worth it.

I miss certain relatives and friends. I can say I truly had some amazing and genuine friends as a witness. I have no hard feelings that they shun me now because I know it is the cult mentality. They are good people stuck in a difficult situation. Most are born ins - it is all they know. I live in an area that I often see old friends, some approach and say hi - some just give a sad smile.

How do you feel about your JW childhood?
by Emily1987 ini was 5 years old when my mother was baptised.
we went from celebrating xmas to no presents or decorations.
we would still go to my unbelieving aunty's house on xmas day, all of my cousins would be playing with their new toys and would wonder why i didn't have any.

LovingLifeNow - just a warning - it isn't the putting lights up, it's the taking them down. Learned that last year. Snow and ice and frozen lights. My plan this year is just to leave them up until the spring. : )
