Were you 'alive in '75' and how was that year for you?
by punkofnice ini was a junior borgite in 1975. i remeber looking at the calendar at work in october and thinking: 'armageddon isn't here yet.....and it doesn't feel like it will be here anytime soon either!'.
i was surprised that jehovah hadn't obeyed the superior command to bring the big 'a' as instructed to him by fred franz.
how dare god disobey the jw leader!!!!!.

Apparently we got an apology from the GB that 1975 didn't bring the big 'A' and it's laughable, what scum suckers, it's an insult, it's not an apology it's MY fault for believing the JW leader's LIES.............
Watchtower of March, 15, 1980, in the article “Choosing the Best Way of Life “the following:
“ In modern times such eagerness, commendable in itself, has led to attempts at setting dates for the desired liberation from the suffering and troubles that are the lot of persons throughout the earth. With the appearance of the book Life Everlasting—in Freedom of the Sons of God, and its comments as to how appropriate it would be for the millennial reign of Christ to parallel the seventh millennium of man’s existence, considerable expectation was aroused regarding the year 1975. There were statements made then, and thereafter, stressing that this was only a possibility. Unfortunately, however, along with such cautionary information, there were other statements published that implied that such realization of hopes by that year was more of a probability than a mere possibility. It is to be regretted that these latter statements apparently overshadowed the cautionary ones and contributed to a buildup of the expectation alreadyinitiated.”

Wow, This is Getting Tougher!
by Franklin Massey ini'm having a really hard time giving my meeting parts.
i had a service meeting part this week and i could hardly get through it.
i am no longer convinced of some of the things jws teach and so i try to either eliminate those things from my parts, or reword them so that i'm not speaking about that which i do not personally believe.

@OnTheWayOut = Personally, it was a one-way street toward the exit once I knew what I know.
This is how it got me. It was just too painful to live a lie that I announced to my family I quit. I left 'cold turkey' all of a sudden.
Yes. It isn't easy as Mrs Punk and daughter Punk are still in and since my departure are both more zealous than ever for the cult.
I am happier in myself for having left the mind control and indoctrination sessions behind.
Much happier than sitting in meetings listening to man made garbage that I am supposed to swallow without question. Said garbage that cannot stand up to reasonable critique.
Down side = Wife and daughter still in.
Up side = Freedom of thought!
On balance it's better out than in for me.

Here's Punky!
I'm typing from an imaginary place the JW cult has called 'the world'.
I am an imaginary creature the JW cult has invented called : 'Apostate'.
I'm frightened of a delusional event (subject to overlapping), the JW cult invented called 'Armageddon'.
....and as Johnny Rotten sang at the end of a song..................................'....and we don't care!'

Yes. 1975 was not a bad year for me, nice weather for riding my motorbike, music I enjoyed, I got some albums by Thin Lizzy, David Bowie, Wishbone Ash, ELP, Alice Cooper, the Who, Bob Marley, New York Dolls, Lou Reed................big list, but you get the idea.
I 'stayed alive in '75'. If Argh-my-giddy-bum came I must have missed it.
SO. Were you born, in the JW cult, left the JW cult.......or what was your experience of '75?

@WOBBLE = What do you mean by good ? just in the sense of not being an arrogant power tripping bully ?
Sorry, I'm not clear am I...yes, by 'good', I mean 'Christian' and loving..not a power tripper.
In the UK I got on well with Don Garrod and Justin................(oh, what's his surname??), and that's about it!
The ones I didn't like would be too long to list.
Why are these guys so arrogant? Do they know it isn't 'the truth' but enjoy the power?

Do you think a lot of JWs are ashamed of their beliefs?
by I quit! inthe reason i asked this is because i'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a jw.
my mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife.
i asked her if she was going attend the funeral service.

Do you think a lot of JWs are ashamed of their beliefs?
Oh yes! That's why the there's the 'admonition' to tell employers and school you are a JW!!
