If you're asking me to 'testify' then it goes like this (Short version).
I was 'born in' so was taught to believe it and did until I became an elder. Then, long story short, I saw how it was all about power and cash for the leaders with lots of 'mystical manipulation' thrown in.
I read CCMC - Steven Hassan.....got to chapter 4 and deprogrammed quicker than a corrupt statement from a bent copper's lips!
this is barbaric.

My immediate thoughts were that if the comparison between 1st century Christians being a parallel of the WTB$ then I didn't notice in the Bible where the 1st century Christians had (to name just a couple of things)
A secret 'flock' book that was mainly about how to get friends shunned
A policy that protected child molesters within the congregations
Endless publications outside of the Bible
.............just my thoughts. Remember I was born in the Borg so haven't been very well educated so am fairly basic in my understanding of things.
the article that caught my eye as i was thumbing through it was on page 18 entitled "a peaceable people defend their good name".
this was all about the issues being addresssed in russia and how the j.w.
's were being oppressed/repressed.. but if you look in the box to the left under "a note to the citizens of russia", you will see that they quote the scripture in luke 12:2 "there is nothing carefully concealed that will not be revealed, and secret that will not become known.".
I guess the GB are keen to use Russia to validate their persecution complex and to pass this paranoia to the drones.

my niece, a very sweet girl, an active jw, e-mails my wife from time to time, she lives in another country so she only gets to the u.k once a year at best.. she e-mailed the other day after returning from the jw wedding of her niece, my great niece.
she expressed the feeling that it was sad for her that we were not at the wedding ,and that our relationship has changed.
we were not invited to the wedding, and only knew when it was being held by deduction, nobody told us for sure.. i want to tell her how i feel, so i tought i would let her know that we are still the same people, we still love the family, and especially her, as we always have.
I went away and thought about this.
My initial reaction was that by expressing sadness this might stir up a hornet's nest.
Sometimes 'radio silence' works best.
