  Iriddle80 - Thanks for your input. I think you're quite brave giving honest comments as a believer.

  Most of the comments are from those, like myself who are sceptical.

  It's a shame more 'believers' don't give honest comments.

  I suspect it's because the arguments are easy to pull apart.

  I don't think I'd make a very good imaginary friend.

  I don't want people trying to contact me telepathically all at once to solve their problems or buy them a bike.

  I don't want people singing at me, especially not the Jobot songs of dour misery.

  Otherwise, it might be a fun gig.

  jehovah’s witnesses love teaching people about the bible, but we never pressure anyone to join our religion.

  Yes. But a couple of things. It isn't a Bible study, it's a publication study. There is plenty of passive aggressive pressure to become a Jobot. Brainwashed? See........

Minds must be cleansed and made over, mental circuits formed by old-world thinking and acting faded out and new ones put in according to new-world specifications. By privately studying regularly, by attending all meetings regularly, and by engaging in all features of the preaching work regularly mental circuits are deepened and such good activities become habitual, not at all the struggle they are when the mental circuits are weak and faint because used only occasionally. For ourselves and for others, make them strong!—1 Tim. 4:16.

  I have no childhood memories or anchors in Christmas, so it is meaningless to me. I don't do trees or decorations because it seems a waste of time. This is because I was raised as a JW Jobot.

  Merry Christmas to those that like it.

  But as for me, determined I will be...........

  I can't stand Christmas songs blaring out because they're all cheap, turgid crap.

  well, i'm spoilt for choice for the seventies!.

  so many good movies.

  i own a few more films from this decade - 41 to be exact.. so many great films came out in this decade .... the godfather (1972).

  I guess Quadrophenia is good, too - I've never seen it, but would like to.

  It's iconic. There are some continuity gaffs which means you can see late 1970's things where 1960's things should be. Worth a squint. In one scene you can see Nicholas Lyndhurst next to a scooter briefly.
