  Hey Cantleave the Wt. sent a letter to all the congregation and ruled that giving a gift to one who was just baptised was wrong. They take the fun out of everything. But it is alright if you give a money gift to the Wt. on the day you are baptised. LOL Totally ADD

  when i first came to this site.

  whenever i would try to talk about somethign from the bible that the jw's got wrong or reason on a scripture that had so much feeling you would stomp all over it.

  talking about "flying spaghetti gods" and laugh at what seemed to be my expense and then leave the thread never to return and add any substance.

  I now consider myself a atheist. But going to the U.U. church I have learned to respect everybody's beliefs. Even though I may not agree with them I have learn to accept them for who they are not what they believe. To me I wish I would have learned this many, many, many years ago.   Bayfront St. Pete FL 1970. All I remember is the water was so hot it turn my skin red. When I went back into the dressing room a newly baptised person said "Were they trying to baptise us or cook us". We all laugh at that one. It was really hot even though the temp. outside was in the 90's F. Totally ADD

  Anyone else buy one of those Pocket Hoses seen on TV?

  worked as advertised... for about a month.

  first one developed a big bulge and popped.

  Our master gardening club bought one as a product survey. We tested it out like you would use a regular hose and found out it was alright but we only used it for a couple of hours. We don't know how it would hold out over a summer period. Totally ADD

  DC "Jehovah's Witnesses have been banned"

  several weeks ago, i had the opportunity to attend one of the dc.

  the final drama was quite interesting as it depicted a "ban" on the jehovah's witness religion without an explanation as to why?

  i'm sure many in the audience pondered on what they had learned from their previous studies i.e that babylon the great would fall and then that gog of magog would eventually turn his attention to the organization.

  Hell I remember back in the 60's how they would talk about being banned. And how us kids would be taken away from our parents and put in worldly peoples homes and be forced to do bad things.   i had two close friends in the org.

  one is in her early thirties and got married last year and the other one is single and in her late twenties.

  after reading coc, i couldn't help but feel sad at how ray and his wife felt regret at putting the religion first and not having any children.

  Where do you get your news?

  i like learning about whats going on in the world.

  but i tire of having to scan news outlets like npr, cnn and fox in order to figure out reality.

  what news organization(s) do you use to learn about whats going on in the world?

  I said it before and I will say it again. All the major news networks are run by just a handful of very rich corporation. And it is all one sided. They will only talk about what will benefit them and destroy the opposition. Just this last week Glasco smith kline pharmaceutical was caught using money to pay for prostitutes for doctors in China so they will use their drugs. Like half of billion dollars worth. Yet not a word from the big networks. Why? Because Glasco smith kline has bought up large amounts of advertising. Those networks don't want to lose all that advertising. I bet no one has heard about this! This counrty is in alot of trouble and both sides of the fence better start waking up and stop these big corporations. Totally ADD
