What pains me is many born-ins who were born in the late 40's and 50's had parents who were still under the spell of this kind of harsh thinking. I know even today holidays and brithdays are not alllowed but that group born then had abuses dealt out by their parents, the congregation members and school officials. I knew alot of old timers in the cult most liked Russel alot. But Rutherford they had little to say about and some told me they did not like him. But that mind set of what Rutherford pushed was still in their personality. Such a deadly mind set. I still have very negative feelings about these things. A cult that appears to the general public as a group of nice people. Sick. Totally ADD

well, i'm going to break this up, because if anyone has read any of my posts, you know i can be long-winded.

yep, i'm the person that can leave a minute or two message on a v.m.. i have been on this board for a month or two and wanted to make sure i'd be sticking around before i intro'd myself, so here i am.

grab your favorite beverage, it's gonna be a long one.. in the beginning.... i learned of the "truth" through a co-worker.

Welcome AK MCGRATH. I have always found Greek, French, Spanish, UK and so forth are always much more friendly and more fun to be around. Us U.S. born ones for the most part walk around with a stick up our butt. And they hate the others having any fun at all. Listen to OnTheWayOut about beating yourself up.
