I watch Australian Sky News on YouTube. It seems spot on though admittedly aligned with the conservative side of the aisle.

U.S. Politics on Australian news. Is it a correct summary?
by jonahstourguide inhi to all americans.. i read this interesting summary of politics in the u.s. at the moment.. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-10-01/us-politics-wrap-debt-ceiling-nancy-pelosi/100503466.
is it 'on the money' so to speak?.
i ask because i often read reports of what's going on here in australia in overseas media.

HLC confidentiality
by shadowclone inlots of hospitals have hired jw's as bloodless care manager.
if they find out that a jw agrees to take blood, what is their protocol in such a case?
usa scenario so hippa is a factor.

Hospital would be liable if their employee broke HIPPA confidentiality. If that kind of thing happens expect the lawyers to get in line. Hospitals have deep pockets. If they can prove WTS “encourages” JW employees to break HIPPA — now there is another set of deep pockets!!!

At least I was young and dumb and had more energy to use back then.
I think I once heard another similar version of that statement, tho not so "G-Rated".

Any signs that Kingdom Halls will re-open soon or door to door work will re-start again?
by eyeslice ini've not heard anything from pimi wife about going back to the khs yet let alone the door to door work.. many churches round here have re-opened if only for private pray and i am guessing that things like singing may be a factor in the reluctance of the witnesses to get back together again.
i also detect that many older ones are still quite afraid to go anywhere they may come in contact with people, even for shopping.
on the other hand, here in uk you can now go to a football match with 70,000 others shouting and chanting.. the door to door work may a total different issue.

But they continue to ask for money during these virtual assembly
I was told at our recent Zoom circuit assembly they announced that the expenses for the program were $5,000. OF course, that's a heap better than the $15K - $20K that in-person assemblies at the already paid-for Assm Halls were costing, but a Zoom meeting at $5000?

Most college graduates will tell you that a diploma isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Unless the degree gets the graduate into a specific career (medicine, law, education, pharmacy, etc) they often find out it's just a piece of paper that came with a huge payment book to repay their school loans and sadly doesn't necessarily get them into a job/career? that pays any better than a plumber/carpenter/electrician who had the benefit of being paid to learn as an apprentice tradesman.

I think you should have your right to have any 'official' records expunged from private entities.

My last conversation with a JW
by LoveUniHateExams inso, i got to thinking about the last time i spoke to a jw.. i was still living down south, june or july 2012.. and i saw this brother in my local high street.
he was a few years younger than me - in his late teens and my early twenties we used to go out to pubs and get smashed.
now this guy starts acting super spiritual - he sees me and after exchanging pleasantries he starts going on about armageddon and how the end is so close.

"only he can stop it", which is to say you can't.
This seems kinda like the GB waiting for Joe Hoover to stop the lawyers from "stealing" all of their money!

Get Vaccinated or Get laid Off
by StephaneLaliberte ini’m personally for the vaccine, took two shots and would take a third if asked.
but i know a friend of mine that doesn’t want to take the vaccine who works for the government and now is faced with this choice: get vaccinated or get laid off.
i don’t agree with this measure as it is totalitarian and runs against my core belief in individual freedom.. now, with that being said, what i don’t understand is that my friend still won’t get vaccinated.

The idea of a mandate was designed to create a political nightmare -- at least in the US.
People here, at least of European descent, are by and large the offspring of Europeans who crossed a BIG BIG ocean in LITTLE BITTY boats because they revolted against the King telling them what to do.
Genetics are a powerful thing.

The well educated young women I know have no problem with marrying or jumping in the sack with a rough & tough looking, well-built "blue collar" kind of guy. These guys are well paid here (mostly union jobs) and most are built like they live at a gym, which I imagine gives them pretty good stamina (if ya get what I'm saying).
