Give Tony a break! "Macallan 12" is only about $80. Had he been filling that cart with "18", then maybe I would agree he was excessive and wonder about the source of all that cash.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

? Question for EX-JW grandfathers. What life advice would you give to your grandchildren and your younger self. ?
by Balaamsass2 ini read an interesting interview with billionaire warren buffet's sidekick, billionaire charlie munger.
good read, this grandpa agrees 1000% with his advice.
i wish i had learned earlier to realize almost everyone lies...(sometimes to themselves) but especially, all politicians and religious leaders.. what advice would you as a grandparent add?".

People are “almost certain to succeed” if they spend less than they earn, invest shrewdly, learn continually and remain disciplined
And of course, I was always fearful that the Market crashing would be the first sign of the Great Tribulation when they would throw their money into the street.
When I finally decided that I'd like to have some money -- even if I did have to throw it in the street -- the Dow had hit 7500 I decided to wait for it to "readjust" to a more reasonable level.

When they said in one of the cartoons that Sophia should give her ice cream money to the Hall, my elderly mom quit contributing.
DO NOT F#(< with a kid's ice cream money!

It would be interesting to hear from Lumberton local JWs if Tony & wife are attending meetings there or even Zooming meetings. But could be there was a Local Needs talk to squash the "gossip" before it even started.
It is in one of the poorest counties in NC and thus not likely to have too many "bright" PIMOs there.

What is worse: 1914 or Beard change
by Gorb inwhat is worse for jw's: changing the 1914 doctrine or allowing beards without the right to say what their opinion is?.

So the 1914 doctrine is solid only in the minds of those who are also willing to mindlessly assume that Jesus was talking about an overlapping generation.
I suspect that not even 5% of active JWs could give you the scriptural explanation for how they arrive at 1914 (seven times, etc etc). At the very best, the average JW would explain the 1914 doctrine based on "the signs" that occurred -- war, famine, pestilence, etc.
And many couldn't explain it other than tell you to GO TO JW (dot) ORG.
The current batch of JWs do NOT know any doctrine.

except....if they changed 1914 it would give every Single Pimo, PimQ, and elder-doing-it-for-the-wife-but-too-scared-to-think the exact reason they need to get up and walk out
If they have not walked out already, they never will.

What If?
by peacefulpete inrecent news about beards is getting lots of attention.
it made me wonder if any guys will return to the church under the impression that 'so much has changed'.
back when, i knew a couple guys who were outspoken about beards, seeing it as an issue, and was never terribly moved by their viewpoint.

I think they've caught a lot of crap about their pharisaic rules -- "going beyond these necessary things". Beards is just one of the most prominent examples of such and the issues happens to be a BIG issue for so many people because it is sooo obviously BS. Especially when beards have been allowed in some areas of the world, but banned in others. Our kids when only teenagers witnessed this when meeting elders visiting from Australia who all had full beards even though they were one of the "deadly sins" if you wore them here.
Hypocrites were not admired by Jesus either.

A sister has snitched on me.
I guess it depends what she is saying. That you have doubts? Or, that you're saying "apostate" things? Then Balaamsass gave good suggestions:
Smile, chuckle, and say: I think she/he misheard me. They are confused. etc.
If you want to continue on PIMO, then it's better to smile and deny than to avoid. IMO

New GB update - beards are now perfectly ok (no really!)
by FFGhost into save y’all the agony of having to sit & watch lett (looking even more puffy and jaundiced than the last time), here is a summary:.
beards are now perfectly fine for anyone & everyone, including ministerial servants, elders, and “special full time servants” (cos and betheliites).. but don’t go and feel “vindicated” — even if you knew you were right about beards, you shouldn’t run ahead of jehovah’s “chariot”.. so there you go.. if you need explicit permission from a puffy steroid addled facial contortionist with an increasingly ridiculous combover to make personal grooming decisions…you might be in a cult .

Does this apply to sisters too? ~ Stan
Not sure about beards, but a mustache was never banned for sisters. In our old Cong, there was always old Sister Giocletti who sat in the back row. As a teenager, I was always jealous of her mustache.
