JW's in the Hot Seat in Czech Republic
by Sea Breeze inlooks like things are heating up in the czech republic over the horrifying practice of shunning children that ask the "wrong" questions.
kids now days have access to all of the watchtower's lies, manipulations, unnecessary deaths, flip flops, rejection of jesus as mediator etc, etc.
i predict this issue of shunning children will continue to threaten free government money that the wt receives.

It's about time they lighten up on JWs attending family events at holiday time, as well as allowing kids to participate in Christmas/holiday events at school.
WOW! I just CANNOT see that happening!

Birthdays -- maybe (New Light on Job's children's "special days"?
CHRISTMAS? NFW! That would even stumble me!!!

We can maintain our confidence in Jehovah's organization.
Even though they've been wrong about everything for over 100 years!
On the other hand, I guess that means that one can be very confident that, based on that track record, they are still wrong and likely will be for the next 100 years.

Being prideful could lead us to consider our personal opinions to be just as valid as Scriptural principles and direction from Jehovah’s organization.
Seems to put the Borg's direction (which they said could be in error because they are imperfect) right on par and equal to Scriptural principles. Evidently™ the warning about being prideful only applies to us but not to them.

Standing quietly and simply not reciting it nor putting my hand over my heart was never a big issue, but having to SIT for the National Anthem could bring some harassment.
In more recent years, as an adult and even as an elder, I would stand at events that had the National Anthem, ie ballgames, or community events (common at theater productions here) even with other JWs. When questioned I inquired if they were not aware that was the direction in the "new" School Brochure. Something like "when invited to stand and sing the NA, one could choose to stand but NOT sing".
I think the old timers WANTED to stir the shit! They wanted to draw attention to being different.
Calling it an "act of worship" was always bullshit. Americans stand for the Canadian anthem when Canadian teams play ball in the US and vice versa. None of those sports fans think they are WORSHIPPING the other nation.
