you can disassociate without even knowing it...very rare!
by oompa inthis works well for elders who are cowards and want you out but dont really have a dfing offense to hang on you...even if you make no statement written or oral that you no longer want to be a jw they can say you quit jw.
they can say that some actions of yours indicated to them that you have disassociated yourself and when that happens they are not even required to tell you there is a committee formed...so there is no reason to tell you a letter is going to be read and so you have no two week period to challenge their decision...but they do not even have to tell you why they reached the decision that something you did that made them conclude you have disassociated yourself.
in fifty years i have never even known anyone who disassociated themselves...and have never even heard of anyone disassociating themselves without even knowing it!!!!

i really dont know why more people like me dont go totally postal on them....
If they get harsher and harsher in their actions against more people, this is what may start occuring, as people are already so stressed out today. If they put them in a position where they lose all their family and friends and they feel they have nothing else to lose, people are at risk of snapping.

She also seems to get the idea that many in the congregation are still in position (elders and pioneers) although they are bold-faced liars (about their behavior as well as their time reporting) but she seems to think the CO is going to do something about it next time he comes. The funny thing is, he won't,
This is what started my doubts -- the appointing of unqualified elders "by Holy Spirit" -- and I now know of others with similar thinking, as well as how often it is mentioned on this board. To me it seems that the standards for appointments are in the basement. And they are even lower when it comes to considering the removal of an elder. They will attempt to cover up or cover over any mistakes made by elders to keep from having to remove them. (The exceptions being sexual indiscretion and apostacy -- both will get you the quick axe!) There are just not enough qualified men willing to serve anymore. Look around any congregation -- there are more "former" elders than elders. And these guys are NOT reaching out to serve again. Burned out, pissed off, disillusioned, or they have had their eyes opened to the politics, hyposrisy, and bullshit.

Our CO recently used the phrase "The Slave" seven times in his Tuesday night talk.
Does it seem to anyone else that this "Slave" is the one now wielding the whip?

JW nephew graduation party cancelled... your insight is requested
by Alfred ini have a jw nephew in another state who was at very the top of his high school senior class this year.
because of this, my sister (an elder's wife) had planned and sent out invitations to his "graduation party" which would be held at a community center with all the bells and whistles.
i actually bought plane tickets for my wife and i to attend this party immediately after receiving the invitation in the mail.

The asking elders to step down if their kid is in college is a NEW directive as of the 2010-11 Kingdom Ministry School for Elders.
It isn't a blanket policy, though. The statement was that if an elder encourages young people to attend higher education or allows his kids to do so, he will be spoken to by the rest of the body to determine whether he is still fit to serve.
My understanding is that the BOE would review an elder's qualifications if any of his family membes went to college based on how it affected their spirtuality. Are they still "putting the Kingdom first in their lives? Which would mean, How are their FS hours? Are they at all the meetings?

assemblies and alcohol
by pedal power inour dc coming up this weekend, i hated them and the only thing that kept me going ,was the reward of booze at the end of each day.my then wife, zelous judgemental pioneer, you know the type, not only droned on about my drinking, but about everyones drinking, a real barrel of laughs not.
anyway, one year we went to another dc, in newcastle, all seemed to be going well, until lunch.we went over to a hotel for lunch,i ordered my fresh orange and food, a few minutes later, the local jw,s arrived for lunch, they had all pr-ordered drinks, alcoholic drinks, and not one drink but many !!!
they were buisy getting boozed up for the afternoon session, way to go, i was about to join them, when my wife told me " dont even think about it ", anyway she was outraged, but there they were ,with thier little convention badges, men and women, young and old, getting merry, they dont even do that here in scotland, !!!.

If they play their cards right, they don't even have to go through the disfellowshipping part of it. Just treat the wife badly, so that when you admit to her than you had an affair years ago she will refuse to forgive you. Then the fact that you confessed to the indescrition and begged your wife to come back (but she refused), then you get away with public reproof. Hang around and look sorry for 6 months or so, get you privleges restores, and legally marry the young hussy you have been humping all this time.

by minimus ini read the ray franz book but witnesses just see the scripture about going "house to house".
how would you help a witness understand the reality?.

Thanks hon....but Ah's Mary, not Blondie......
I'M SORRY!
THANKS! MARY! I had this discussion with a friend recently whose main support of JWs is they are the only ones following the Bible's command to preach house-to-house. (Of course, he is right according to his Bible.)
