  The Covid-19 pandemic is way too hot a political/social issue for the wt to stand up against.

  They don't want another "blood issue" fiasco that brings repercussions to them for another 60 years.

  i recall when it was released ,that's when i was a drone, how excited i felt at the prospect of reading it and formulating ways to sell it at the homes in my area.. i thought, finally a book to explain the last book in the bible and indeed one that the churches seemed to want to leave alone!.

  i sold quite a few probably because of my enthusiasm and can still remember clearly the first day when i went knocking on doors with it ,and it's been decades since.. but over time it lost it's shine and my mind started to question the explanations in it due to the scene of other things being changed in the jw beliefs.. do you remember they flogged that book so many times in the book studies even when it was found to have "newer light " eclipsing it!.

  who else remembers the printed pages with the official corrections to insert into the book ,so many that the book collapsed to be of no relevance anymore really.....what an embarrassment!.

  Oh yeah! I remember (not literally) those Cedar Point Conventions!

  Those were earth shaking events. How could anyone not see that they were Revelation's Trumpet Blasts and the Bowls of Wrath from Heaven??????????

  OH WAIT -- NO ONE who is alive today remembers any of that crap!

  What JW's did in the early 20th Century (or for all time, for that matter) doesn't make a shit-bit of difference any more than does a drop of water in the ocean.

  My Girlfriend’s Beautiful Scottish Terrier Died Yesterday 😥

  mia was almost 8 and she was the sweetest dog who was my girlfriend’s constant companion.

  she had a wonderful disposition and was just a source of joy to everyone who would meet her.. she was brought to the vet on thursday and seemed to have digestive issues.

  the vet gave her medicine and said it would make her sleepy.

  Medical Supplies - Please Help Me Understand the Rationale About States Bidding Against Each Other

  i really don't understand why states have to bid against each other for essential items such as medical supplies.

  when you get into bidding wars, the consumers are the ones who lose.. put 50 people in an auction for a product and the one who wins is the manufacturer, not the ones purchasing.. my wife works for a multi-national corporation.

  if she is importing or exporting goods, she doesn't determine what the costs will be; this is already determined through the corporate offices that negotiate worldwide movement of products.

  The main reason is the feckless, incompetent pant-load sitting in the White House who abrogates his responsibility to orchestrate a unified federal response to an unprecedented national crisis. He's in stark contrast to several governors stepping into the breach.

  If the Trump Administration had started barking orders at Governors (particularly to shut down business while if was still uncertain what havoc this virus could cause), the Governors would have immediately shouted for STATES' RIGHTS.The US Constitution (supposedly) only gives the Federal Government very limited rights. Nearly everything is left to the States. (IMO the Feds illegally overstepped their rights in refusing the Confederate States the right to secede from the Union by declaring war on the Confederate States.)
  

  Most Americans have the opinion (and rightly so) that anything into which the Federal Government "sticks its nose" will be effed-up. America is too large and diversified for a "one-fits-all" policy on most things. Policies that work in California and New York do not usually work the same in Nebraska and Wyoming, etc. This is the same policy that governs US public school districts -- the idea that LOCAL government can better manage it than even State, and certainly more so that Federal governments.

  But now that the incompetency and lack of preparation by several States is clearly evident, their Governors are shouting that the Feds should have covered their backs. You'll note that 9 States still refuse to implement "Stay at Home" orders. They aren't complaining about the limited Federal response.

  And so it goes in the USA.

  as opposed to blind faith/cognitive dissonance and honest mistakes.. i'm inclined to think they have the best of intentions and are just wrong (primarily because the bible is wrong), but i'm willing to consider the evidence otherwise..

  By and large, I think that is true of at least some of them. The older GB members were as mystified by the doctrinal "spins" of Freddie Franz as were most of us. Remember they were all uneducated, socially inept men. And, it wasn't until the clock ran out on many of those things (ie, this generation not passing away) that it became evident (at least to anyone not completely blinded) that Freddie had been all wrong all along. I think most of them died happy that death was finally relieving them of the pain of their cognitive dissonance.
