Prophesy from a JW (and others perspective). What purpose is there in trying to interpretate some of the stuff that you don't understand??

this is not a jw-bashing thing, but it always seemed odd to me that the "excuse" when things go wrong is that "we have to wait and see how the prophesy is fulfilled" or some other wording.. my question has always been, then what is the purpose of the prophesy if you don't understand it until after the fact?

isn't that like having a weather forecast but being told that we don't really know what the weather will be until the next day?.

i'm sure some of the intelligent people here can guide me but in all honesty, i never understood that..

Anna Maria, I have difficulty hiring people to work in my business. No special skills or education. No past experience. $20/hour. I give my biz card to "the homeless" who panhandle on the street corner. None ever show up for a job. I think they're making more (tax free) cash than I am in their panhandling.

The only "modern day slavery" IMO is the middle class worker who "slaves away" every damn day to earn a good livelihood for their family but who then loses (over) 50% of their earnings to taxes, (too) much of what goes to support those deadbeats who do not WANT a job. Wealth re-distribution.

Back to the real subject at hand:

I'm glad to see the BBC bring it to light. The Candice Conti judgement did make some major newspapers here but was overshadowed by the Penn State sex abuse scandal. Great timing for WT. Joe Hoover must have been looking after them. Most people won't find anything about the JW CSA scandal unless they're "looking for it". Usually on "apostate" websites. Or, at least that is what accusation will be used against them if they bring up the subject.

Interesting That in the Regional Convention They Are Asking for More Volunteers to Bethel

for those of us who could sit through the program so far, i did find it interesting that they are again asking for people to apply to bethel.. i happened to speak to a friend who called and asked him why they would do that.

his response was that, well, they need younger people there.. i guess once you are over 50 or something you are eligible to be sent out to pasture..

I've heard it explained that we really only understand a prophecy AFTER it's fulfillment. WTF?

What happened to that thing about God doing nothing without "giving advance notice to His servants, the prophets"?

Yet, "His Servants, the prophets" (aka GB?) don't seem to know Jack Schmitt about any of the prophesies and they especially don't seem to know WHY NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN FULFILLED as was promised by their predecessors (ie, Freddie, The Judge, etc).

2 Peter 3:4-- "They will say, 'Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.' "

Aren't there a lot of JW's whispering that very question?

The Bible says Trump will win. Daniel 2 says the feet is iron mixed with clay. The Iron is Trump, his administration and his supporters and the clay are the Democrats and those against Trump. It must continue for 4 more years to continue the prophesy unless the end comes on 11/3.

Let's hope you radical Bible thumpers get this one right!

Some people like the approach of Easy Listening music (Biden), giving a massage and offering you warm face towels.

But Biden would probably be offering the massages to young girls.

sir82, if you are correct, then the JW's might well be right -- "The End is near!" I was never a "Trumper", although I was an ABC (Anybody But Clinton) voter. But I cannot see why anyone would dare want to risk going back to the Obama/Biden economy. And I seriously doubt that things would be that good with the things that Biden (or his puppet masters) are now proposing.

And when "American sneezes, the World catches a cold." Thus, it would be a shit storm for the World economy, too.

sir82, how can you really support a candidate who literally has trouble putting two or three sentences together to convey anything meaningful? He can't even keep his place using a teleprompter. Additionally, not only is the man dealing with failing cognitive ability, but clearly, the "Huntergate" scandal proves the man is corrupt. He's been creepy with women (even little girls). I'm assuming it must be "a lesser of two evils" decision, and you see Trump as "really" evil. Inquiring minds want to know --

I worry for the future that my grandchildren will inherit from us.
