Sounds like NYC has returned to being a shithole. Other than the one-of-a-kind tourist attractions, I saw nothing
"special" about the place. Sad that over 8 million people think that is what all of this country is like, or even worse, that NYC it is the "best" that American has to offer.

i’ve always loved the vitality of the city and no one could ever say that you could get bored in nyc.
i regularly went for business during the day and in the evenings go to local bars and restaurants as well as the village.

That's a great experience. Circuit Assembly quality, IMO.
I think R&F JW's (even MS) are mostly kept "in the dark" about any kind of negative thing in the Borg. Once a guy makes it to Elder, he's trusted that some of the blinders can be removed without wrecking his faith. It's the "Now you're one of us" and you can handle (a little smidgen) of The Truth.
The fact is there is SO MUCH on the WWW that reveals TTATT is every detail. The only way an active JW can remain PIMI is by closing their eyes and ears and looking straight ahead (trance-like).
What's really exciting about their experience is they are only 32 years old!!! (Had only we been that lucky!)

At 5,500 SF this cannot really be an "Assembly Hall" as stated in the article, rather, just a typical Kingdom Hall (as it says 2 congs). I'm surprised they sold it for 50% of what the country says it is appraised. They are usually "shrewder" than that when it comes to finances, but then again, it was build on the cheap with inexperienced free labor over 30 years ago. Half a million more for Zalkin & Others PC.

I think the majority are just delusional. Or at least they start out that way.
Why do I say that? I'm basing it on how I felt as an elder. I really believed it was The Troof. I'm actually a pretty bright guy. Pretty successful in life despite being hampered by following the JW rules against education, etc. I knew there were "problems" with some of the doctrine/dogma, but I really, really thought the basic things were solid. Of course, I'm more from the Franz/Knorr generation of JWism. Freddy Franz was a wizard. He was magic. Without any doubt, he was a very gifted man. But not a savvy businessman that Knorr was. Freddy dreamed it all up and Knorr sold it.
The shit they peddle today is........well........shit. How can ANYONE (with any reasonable sense) buy into the overlapping generation BS?It should be obvious to everyone that it's just a "Band-Aid" to try to stop the hemorrhaging that was happening when many began to figure out that the old doctrines had "expired". They had to replace the "1914 generation" with something. Sadly, the overlap was evidently the best thing these bumbling idiots could conceive.
Still there MUST be some "at the top" who know all the dirty secrets, ie, the twisted quotes and false information put into publications like the Creator Book and the Trinity Brochure. When you have to twist and lie to peddle your shit, then you know it's a lie. Perhaps those are just so deep in the Borg that they cannot do anything else? Perhaps they fear it all falling apart and where would they be? Old. Broke. Uneducated. And, without any marketable skills. So they just keep pushing the BS that they know is BS because their future depends on it.
I believe the delusional ones are just praying that Joe Hoover bails them out real soon. They pray every day and night that Armageddon come tomorrow just to prove them right.

Do You Know Of Anyone That Has Seen A Therapist Because Of Being A Witness?
by minimus ini really don’t know of many people who got into therapy because of their jw dealings but i would think that if someone remains depressed or severely affected by their past witness life, it’s not a bad idea to speak to someone to get you on the right path.
i think this site has been very therapeutic for many over the years..

It is vital to ask any counselor you intend to go to if they are experienced with cults. If they are not they are likely to see the wt as just another religion.
I found this to be true. I was seeing a counselor for other issues -- not anything specifically pertaining to JWism, but the subject of religiosity/spirituality came up and I was frank about the JW issues. The counselor had no idea they practiced shunning, etc. He simply had always viewed them as just another protestant fringe religion without having any understanding of the psychological damage that can be inflicted by the Cult and its members.
