Great WT article.
That is what religion does -- it gives people "HOPE" -- even if nothing tangible ever proves true.
todays watchtower is very interesting on many levels.
they know that millions are disappointed.. https://www.jw.org/finder?srcid=jwlshare&wtlocale=e&prefer=lang&docid=2023681.
i also found it interesting they talk about brother fred franz and show his picture.

I am not saying it doesn't sound like a Watchtower document ~ Listener
Well..........it sure doesn't look like one without having any letterhead.

I am inclined to believe the whistle blower. . . . ~ Enough
It all makes sense to me. WT is in a CYA mode, as they should be considering the "attacks" there are against them of CSA mismanagement resulting in both criminal and civil lawsuits, as well as the violation of Human Rights -- breaking up families and enforcement of bans on medical care (transfusions). Not only do these things damage their "image", more importantly, they are costing them MILLION$.
The blood issue is almost already a "non-issue" as a result of the Bulgarian compromise in the late 1990's. It's not a problem to shift it over to "individual conscience" and ordering elders to "step back". Likely to do that via verbal instructions from the CO to elders. A simple statement that it is "better" legally if individuals write their own personal "Blood Directive" vs a formal WT printed Blood Card. Autologous transfusions becoming a "conscience matter" will be the first step in this transition.
I can imagine a "Jubilee" decree on DF/DA persons -- but with limitations on those guilty of apostacy or CSA. This is already in force when dealing with association between family members. They will not direct elders to take DF action against an active JW for association with immediate family, though the individual may lose congregation privileges/status.
I doubt there will be any official doctrinal change on 1914/1919 as far as a retraction. It appears that the dates or calculation to arrive at such dates are already in their past. Lately, it is just "world conditions" that make The End so very close -- very, very close.
To the WT Rep reading this site: The WT heavies are pretty damn stupid if they don't make these changes. The lawsuit money grubbing lawyers & politicians have to be stopped.
Welcome to JW Light. Ya ain't seen nothing yet!
"judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.
this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .
this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.
Religion:
An organization that offers its members the mythical "person" to blame for their own shortfalls and failures in life; and the fantasy of cheating death and being rewarded with a significantly better future provided that they follow their every changing rules exclusively.

I cannot wait for the summer convention to hear how many Bible Studies were started from all that effort busy work.
can anyone give me a rundown or send me to a thread on the robert hendriks thing?
he was recently 'dismissed' from bethel and was pid (public information department?
) i'm not even sure i have this right..... thanks much.
"...naw, I really am not a true Jehovah’s Witness believer, though I do enjoy being in front of the camera...in fact I believe WT is as guilty as hell in their mishandling of CSA cases!"
Guessing he failed to brush up on his "Theocratic Warfare" strategy and got screwed for being caught telling the truth (not to be confused with The Troof).

Ever since the photoshopped pics of GB with beards was posted (without a disclaimer that it was PS), I've become more skeptical of some things if read here first.
ok, i know the story of how it went, with the deal they reached with the bulgarian government, etc.
i know.. what i need to know is if there is an internal document that redefines willingly taking blood as a disfellowshipping offense into a cause for disassociation.
a letter from the branch?

Looks like the change that was motivated by Bulgaria refusing to recognize JWs was in the mid- to late-90's.

Tony Morris was definitely dismissed for being "not open to any agreement"...with the alcohol issue being a side problem as part of the evidence against him.
Would sure like to know the source, or at least have more than one (two witnesses anyone?).
text: matthew 24:45-47.
45 “who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?
46 it will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
Providing the most widely circulated book in the world is pretty good communicatuon. ~ Sea Breeze
But that fact that it is so confusing and contradictory that there is no singular accepted understanding of it (Wiki says there are over 33,000 differing "Christian" denominations) would indicate that it is a pretty bad attempt at communication.
Doesn't seem much better than those "must be assembled" instructions poorly translated into English by a factory worker in China.
Surely God could have done better, or at least provided an update (dare I say New Light?).
