Return to Sender: JW letter
by moomanchu ingot a jw letter in the mail the other day.. i decided to throw some comments back.
not perfect, but i figured i wasted enough time since it will probably get thrown directly in the trash.. i found the person's home address who sent it and mailed it there, the address on the letter is the kingdom halls address.. .
curious to see if anything comes of this..

How does the Govering Body get enlightenment?
by no-zombie infrom the earliest of times of the catholic church's ecumenical councils were used to make major changes to its doctrinal direction.
decisions were made by bishops, they were ratified by the pope ... and it was done.
and the laity had to accepted them or not.. and while splinter catholic religions accepted most of these councils, non-trinitarian faiths which developed latter (of which jehovah's witnesses are apart) did not.

Usually it seems to take a multi-million dollar judgement to slap them some enlightenment into them.

Did the WT Biggies not imagine that such a change would open floodgates of problems? JW's are NOT accustomed to thinking for themselves. They are not capable of reasoning on their own because they typically just do what they are told to do.
Evidently™ the GB/Helpers have not seen the YouTube videos of people at Walmart. Did they not realize that a certain population of JWs would be showing up at the Hall or for Field Circus in their "Walmart attire".
No evidence of Holy Spirit helping them see through this one!

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

Tony was always falling asleep in GB meetings!
Somehow that isn't a surprise. To be fair, Tony seemed like one of the "sharpest" knives in their drawer. I'm sure sitting through the rantics of ole Rubber Face Lett; or do you remember how BORING Splane was trying to x-splane the Overlap Fiasco; or.......need I go on......
Those meetings would put an angry ADHD child to sleep!

Why does it matter whether or not Armageddon is near?
by TxNVSue2023 inwhy does it matter whether or not the end of the world ( (armageddon) is near?
if it was next week, next year, next decade, next century?
what is to be gained by knowing how close or far it is?

When JW.org drops 607BCE...
by Nathan Natas inprobably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.
in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?
" by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.

But J.W's, in common with other "End Time" loving Christians, will ignore the proper interpretation and understanding of Scripture, so the tenuous claims of the Org. will still convince the gullible.
For most of the R&F, they don't have to worry about such "deep questions".

Ignore the 607 date and let it "fade" away and base all the 1914 Hocus Pocus appointment on the "signs" -- WW1, Spanish flu, etc

How they could change blood doctrine
by Person inmany people say gb will soon dump blood doctrine to appear less fanatical.
others saying it is impossible for them to do that because of legal ramifications.
i think there is a way that could potentially be solution to those problems.

They simply need to:
(1) disband the HLC so they are not "guilty" of pressuring anyone to refuse treatment;
(2) relay to BOEs verbally via COs that due to Satan early hordes using the BT to attempt to destroy the Org, BT will NOT result in DF anytime a person "repents" (this is more or less the unwritten rule currently);
(3) gradually move it to a contentious decision that everyone must deal with personally between himself & Jehovah. When a question regarding a BT arises, it can be dealt with on an individual basis through the Service Dept (who will decide all cases should be ignored).

I am sure they are hoping they can survive until the CSA cases peter out. But as more and more US States drop the Statute of Limitations on filing lawsuits it brings in a whole new batch of problems for them.
I think they really should be more concerned about their loss of charity status around the world. I don't ever see it at risk in the US, but Europe is just beginning to explode.
