Did you hear Stewart use the bible to prove an incredibly good point to Jackson!!
by umbertoecho ini thought at the end, stewart made brilliant use of scripture (about establishing fornication or other sexually immoral practises) how, in such a clever way stewart used scripture to point out that some one could basically stake out someone's house to see if a person stayed over night be they homosexual or heterosexual............that on the basis of a sort of stakeout, the two witness rule was ambivalent yet it prevailed.
due to sufficient suspicion.. and therefore why did this "suspicion" not prevail with child sexual abuse.

matt 18:16. Deut 19:15.. Angus said "can I draw your attention to Deut 22:23-27, if Jesus had been asked about child abuse would he not have quoted this scripture instead". Well I could have answered that & I`m an idiot. So why the hell couldn't JeffJack? -

GB member Geoffrey Jackson is lying!
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inokay, i know the royal commission hasn't started yet.
but i'm confident enough that he will be telling some whoppers.
so i thought i'd be the first to get a thread started for something that will begin... very soon now!.

He said that they could use women more to help the victims. Can you imagine who they would be. The Elders wivies , can you imagine it, they would only do what their husbands told them. It would be a bloody nightmare for the victim, they would be the talk of the cong. The bottom line is they have no idear how to handle these matters. JeffJack said it out of his own mouth "we take spiritual responsibility". So then let the right people deal with the criminal side of things. And that's not JWs -

Its really weird
by SpunkedTeen ini tried testing my family by mentioning that a member of the gb was summoned to appear in front of the royal commission and i found it really weird how they reacted.they dismissed it saying its just satan attacking the 'truth' and i could not believe how ignorant they are.they all think that the organization did nothing wrong or even that jw's abuse their children.

What surprises me the most is that JeffJack is 1 of the leaders, so you would think they would all tune in to lend him their support. After all if God is going to tell him what to say it should be of interest to us all. Shouldn't it? -

How to spot: a single JW sister
by purrpurr ini remember this time of year when jw's desend en mass on one area.
a fun game to play is "spot the..." whatever jw walking stereotype you choose.. so i thought i would play it with you guys, starting with how to spot a single jw sister.. i say, she will be dressed up to the nines, probably over dressed in fact, have hair immaculately coffied, make up plastered on, towering heels and be smiling at every brother in site.
all they need is a sign saying "pioneer, virgin, available for marriage!".

Possum, You are so right. Do you remember the drama I think it was about 3 years ago about 2 couples. One girl was only interested in looks, the other was all spiritual. Anyway they it was portrayed that the spiritual girl married the slightly odd JW boy & they went on to be successful in the mino & their marriage, where the other couple who married for looks & choose to have kids were unhappy & had wasted their lives. I remember sitting through it absolutely disgusted. In one foul scoop they had put down anybody who choose to have a family over the ministry. I felt so sorry for all the young couples in the audience, especially the young women who wanted nothing more than to have that. It`s no wonder so many witness kids are odd & end up in unhappy marriages. Someone needs to tell them theres plenty of fish in the sea. Get the hell out of the pond. -

shunning verses victamization
by Sabin ini know i`ve put this out there before but i want to put it in a different context & see what you think.
i`ve shunned my parents for 20 years (farther, step-mother) because they victimized me every day of my life as a child, believe me when i tell you that writing this , is unbelievable hard, it is making me shake & cry to be pulling up the memories.
all of what happened i could have forgiven, but one thing.

Secretslaveclass This is terrible, I`ve heard this story many times. Good on you for standing by your sister. You know what sickens me so much is why the hell would a girl make that up. If someone did make it up then they need just as much help don't they. Whats wrong with these parents -

Hello Marvster, I wrote this then left it. so I`m quite surprised to find These replies. Talesin mentions the Jungian idear however I`ve never heard this word personally. I tried to find my research, hove notes all over the place, will keep looking. She says about animals or objects being apart of your own charactaristics which I believe to a point can be so. I got the book Dream dictionary by Michael Vigo. I found this really helped me. You can of cause do research on the web, But I think overall dreams are as individual as we are. For instance take my dreams about sharks, indicates feelings of anger, hostility & fierceness. Undergoing a difficult & emotional time, could be a threat to myself or others. Struggling with my individuality & independence, it could however represent a person in my life who is greedy & unscrupulous. Well the interesting thing here is that I was always in the water, always trying to get away & always scared. As I started to spend less time with JWs it changed. I was in a boat, then I was on the shore. Which ever way I looked at it, it became obvious to me that they were the sharks. I had lots of different nightmares over the years with lots of different subject matter. It may interest you to know that these type of dreams are significant to people who are very deep thinkers & tend to feel the pain of others suffering. Which I also found interesting as it was the end of suffering for children that was what really motivated me to be a JW. I didn't care about myself being in the new world. I find myself crying about the things that happened around me concerning kids. It was a great shock when I finally realized that GB doesn't give a shit about them. And Welcome to the forum. -

New Britian Branch set to open Dec. 31, 2019?
by JustVisting inaccording to the august jw broadcast the new britian branch is scheduled to open by december 31, 2019 and is currently the 2nd largest construction project (assuming warwick is the largest).
are the current facilities that spread out that a more centalized location the main reason for acquiring and developing an 85 acre site?
also, with the end looming on the horizon, what message does that send regarding making long-term plans?

Movies/Books for Cult Survivors
by Brighid infor me, there have always been special movies or scenes in movies that trigger my old jw experience (fiddler on the roof and little mermaid touched me deeply when i watched them as a young jw).
later as a survivor, it was more donnie darko, thx 1138 themes that struck me in particular.. anyway, looking for suggestions on great movies, books (art of any kind, really) that especially speak to or move you as a jw survivor?
there are reasons beyond purely entertainment that i ask..

Lukejmedic, good for you. You put the feelings of your son first while staying true to yourself. If people don't like it tell them to sod off. I bet your being there was the best thing in the world to your son. If he grows up & wants to be a JW, that is what makes him happy then so be it. As parents we just need to love. To except our children & support them in what they want to do. Enjoy the moment.
