venting: My wife is in cult mode again! she tried to start a fight..
by goingthruthemotions inso when i was at luch today, my wife was in full cult mode.
she started in on me about us not being able to hang with other witnesses and when i go to the meetings with her that i don't talk with nobody nor pay attention and act angry.
i told her that i don't want to fight and i have better things to do than argue.

GTTM. I am trying to think back when I was fully involved & my hubby was fighting it all the way & I think there is a lot of pressure on women in the JDub`s. For instance they read that scripture, "won without a word". It`s almost like their saying if you cant get or keep your husband in then you are a bad wife. So you the wife have failed Jehovah. I know that sounds crazy but really thats the roll of the wife in the org isn't it. We had a big row about it one day my hubby went off the deep end shouting & swearing at me about all the hypocrisy going on, he was never gonna join & I was just broken. I felt that his feelings were a reflection on my not being a capable wife. Which I now know is crap. I remember talking to an older sister, She was so impressed by my comments concerning my husband, yes he is not perfect but I always praised him I never put him down. She said most sisters in an divided house hold have nothing but bad things to say. When you truly analysis this it`s simple, she has lost you to the world, worldlies are going to die, because they don't love Jah. & maybe that because she has failed. At least I bet if you listen to her words you will hear the anxiety of what others think, & it wont be kind. So she will run you down to counteract the unsaid opinions of others that she will be hearing in their looks. At least that is what I remember feeling even though at the time I couldn't see it. Hope this helps you to see it from her side. Sorry if I`ve totally missed the mark. -

Why Me?
by John Aquila indo you ever wonder why out of all the witnesses, you are the one that woke up?
i wonder many times why me.
i know many men and women that are much, much better persons than me; either they are much smarter, more humble, kinder, more successful, or just better persons all around.

John Aquila, tell me this, why didn't all those people wake up when Jesus was in front of them? The religious leaders looking for the son of God & they missed him. Why? I think sometimes people just don't like to be wrong, it`s to much like hard work like being in a comfortable marriage there is no chemistry but it would be to much bother to do something about it. I think a lot of J Dub`s are aware that it`s not right but they are happy so don't rock the boat. I`ve often thought with this R.C. going on what the hell is wrong with these people it`s child abuse, not some disagreement over some doctrine, my husband tells me they don't want to know, they don't want to question it. It makes me feel mad but he`s so right. I think it`s what we call apathy. -

Had to go to a JW funeral yesterday.
by Crazyguy init's amazing how ones shun former witnesses or faders.
a couple of people said high to me that know i do not go but the rest no.
but the main reason i post is how ridiculous the funeral talk was.

We got slammed for not going to an older sisters funeral, but I know the bitch knew her grandson was molesting kid`s & said nothing so I would be fucked if I was going to go. I got no time for people like that dead or alive. -

The conventions and the memorial are a pain in the butt for me.
by John Aquila ini can imagine those of you who have a spouse that is not awake and how hard it must be.
i have a 90 year old mom who is a jw and still puts in 12 hrs a month in field service.
the brothers and sisters are always picking her up for conventions, meetings and memorials and as much as i try to avoid them, there are times when i just cant.

Well said LisaRose, as an orge they are responsible for about 15000 suicides & attempted suicides every year, cause of their wicked shunning polices. Can there be a bigger sin than murder? Child abuse I hear you cry, & where do they stand on that one. Assholes.

Oh yes Mr William Clinton you want your conscience on the matter of blood to be excepted, your religious freedom. But what of the Doctors conscience, of not wanting as he may of believed to risk a patients life? -

The BEST day of your life-------and the WORST day of your life?

Best day of my life, apart from the holding my kid`s for the first time was the first kiss from my husband. 1st July 1993. He kissed me on the door step just inside my house OMG it was like electric makes my heart feel warm even thinking about it. Then we just stood there for an hour in each others arms & I told him he was everything I ever dreamed of in a man. We both knew in that moment it was for life. Within six weeks of meeting he had moved in & that was that. He is still to this day the love of my life. The worst day is yet to come when I disassociate from this cult & have to say goodbye to my beautiful children as they are both devout witnesses. Not looking forward to that. -

Are There Good People Out There?
by LaurenM ineven though i'm no longer mentally a jw (i still technically am) i do recognize that there are some benefits to being raised one.
for example, the first (and only so far) wordly guy i was involved with had to smoke weed every day and got drunk all the time and that was his idea of fun.
i couldn't help but feel bad for him.

I think that people are people where ever you go. A lot comes down to luck. Right place right time. I`ve met amazing women J Dub`s & not who have ended up with the most awful men, & haven't had the strength to walk away & then there`s other`s who have found the strength to stay. I know it sounds like a contradiction but each persons trials & the way they deal with them, is as individual as the person themselves. In the J Dub`s we are taught that we are part of a big family which makes us vulnerable to those who are scrupulous on the inside because we willingly trust that their motives are good & taught those on the outside are the enemy under Satan`s control so we do not learn to trust our own judgement or listen to our inner voice, we are as babes which again makes us easy targets for the mean. Stop giving people the benefit of the doubt, I`m not saying you should prejudge them in a negative way I`m saying stay neutral, gain more info. Find out a bit of their history. If a guy cheated on his last girlfriend then it`s likely he will cheat on you. Be honest with yourself about your strengths & weaknesses . If something bad happens you aren't alone & you aren`t to blame. Know in your heart you are good. That is certainly what comes across in your words on the forum, every one else here sees it. -

Jehovah's Witness Leader: There's a 'Spiritual Dilemma' in Reporting Sexual Abuse
by defender of truth inthe article is a good summary to show people who are too busy to read the transcript.
the main points are covered, without jackson's waffling... this is my favourite quote:.
jackson also testified that while there havent been any particular discussion among church leadership about apologizing to victims of sexual abuse, its perceivable that they might consider doing so.

Defender of the truth. I`m beginning to think that the money that they tell us is going to help our brothers & sisters is a lie aswell. I know I believed it cause they said so. The reality is I have no prove. Does anybody else? -

Serious question about the Australian RC and the WTBTS.
by DATA-DOG ini have not been in a position to watch all of the interviews, so i'm sure that i missed a few things.
here is my question.
were either elders or ministerial servants accused of sexually abusing children, or were the accused just lowly r&f publishers or bible studies?

these are the ones they know about. There will be thousands more. I know of two child rape victims where it was never reported to the police. One sister who is now in her 50`s is aware that something happened to her when she was little but her brain hasent brought the details forward. Her fleshly sister & brother both know about it & have said nothing. Her sister told me it`s a kindness on her part not to say & the elder who raped her when she was 12 was convicted anyway so that makes it o.k. Apparently 17 girls have come forward so far. I think when you step back from the witnesses you can see so clearly how cruel they are. It makes you wonder how the hell you didn't see it before. -

John 13:35.
by Sabin inso my husband believes the wording in john 13:35 is wrong.
instead of saying, "by this all will know that you are my disciples-if you have love among yourselves".
it should say "by this all will know that you are my disciples-if you have love for yourselves".

Yeah! he was being sarcastic. Cause They are so selfish, all they care about is themselves.
