Wife Equates Having A Good Marriage With Being "Spiritual"
by JW_Rogue inso i've noticed lately that my wife seems to think that in order to have a good marriage both people must be "spiritual".
she thinks being close as a family is all about family worship night, field service and praying together.
i know where these ideas are coming from but it is very hard to combat them.

I think that the advise from J Aquila is great. Us girls love to be loved, attention to feel beautiful & that we are the only one. Sometimes men are clumsy with us emotionally. Not because their bad their just men & they see it differently. You need to up the love, look at it from her point of view (at least try). Some of the things the borg says about marriage is really good. About showing honour to ones wife, loving her as your own body, not looking at other women etc. We`re romantic at heart, that's the stuff we see, so if you don't want to be spiritual then your no longer obligated to do the other things. You need to get her to see you do those things because of her not cause of the borg. Example: The sisters were always flirting with my husband, cause he gets women, respects them & is an all round great guy. It drove me insane, they would come up & talk to him & totally ignore me, there bapped sis. I felt really insecure about it & it caused some arguments between us. These women were smarter, prettier & thinner than me, it made me feel like he could do better, I never said that out of fear. Then one day I blurted it out that I felt jealous. You know what he said "I`m the man I am because of the woman I married, I`m not interested in anybody else" all my fears went away. You see this is how we think. Find out what she is really feeling, what is behind her actions & words. Go from there. -

Local Congregation Takes Away My Dad's Phone Hook-Up (HE'S 85 YRS. OLD)
by NoMoreHustle inthis happened about 6 months ago, didn't really have an opportunity to post about it (been busy), but they still haven't given back his password for the phone hook-up.
they say that this is direction from the "branch office".
i think it's complete bs, the real reason why they are doing this is to punish me & my family because i am basically a ghost when it comes to meetings & any type of activity.

I think Brandnew say`s it all. Obviously she knows the elders in your dad`s cong, & is absolutely correct.

Exiting the JW cult, by Bonnie Zieman.
by Sabin inhello to you all, i`m reading this book exiting the jw cult & i think so far it is brilliant.
i emailed a friend the other day and said "sometimes i feel rage that isn't good towards the j dub`s & what they do to others".
then i came across this section in the book, pg 62-63, where it says.

Hello to you all, I`m reading this book EXiting the JW cult & I think so far it is brilliant. I emailed a friend the other day and said "sometimes I feel rage that isn't good towards the J Dub`s & what they do to others". then I came across this section in the book, pg 62-63, where it says." When we have to repress so much of who we are & what we want, it is infuriating to the self. Trying to be a good, model Jehovah`s witness, we can never reveal the well of anger & rage building inside us-not to other congregation members &, often, not even to ourselves". I thought how true that was, for me anyway. I have felt like that for years, there are some people I know who clearly take advantage of others & your told to wait on Jehovah when all you want to do is smash them, & shout it from the roof tops. Is it just me or does it seem that the more corrupt the J.W the more they get used as an example of goodness on the stage?. The author goes on to explain that repressed rage can account for a lot of the physical ailments that plague the J.W`s. This week I have been to see the Neurologist to get my results for all the test they have been doing on my brain as I was passing out, fitting coming round & vomiting violently & I got the all clear. Yes it`s official I`m normal. I explained about the cult & how since I had been away from it I had been sleeping, no more nightmares & no more passing out. He was totally unsurprised by this which made me think seriously about the amount of others that have had to go through this shit, many I suspect still haven't recognized the cults part in it, I didn't for years. So I`m asking for your thoughts on the book if any have read it? & also if you feel this rage sometimes to? It would be interesting to read the differences between the men & women. SABIN -

I think I already posted this on here. basically they were told not to watch it & if asked on the service about it they are to say something like " While I myself have CHOOSEN not to watch the Royal commission, as an organization we are pleased that these matters are being looked into so we will be more able to see where we need to make changes". (kingdom smile). Straight out of the mouth of one of the most intelligent young women I know! I think you will find that ozzy JDub`s live in abit of a bubble, they think it`s only them on the planet.

peony, I would consider myself a strong woman to have survived the things in life that I`ve gone through, & yet at the moment I have difficulty going out on my own cause of the anxiety. Don't beat yourself up, I think your brave. It`s just part of the process. Believe that it will get better. When you have been part of the Borg you are aware of how cruelly they view people who leave. They are like a pack of wolfs, any arsehole can be mean it takes courage to be kind. Be true to who you are which is obviously someone with better morals than they have. -

Cognitive Dissonance
by LexIsFree inthe cognitive dissonance amongst jws has never been more obvious to me then what i just experience in the last 5 min.
long story short i had a phone conversation w/my mom about some things and i mentioned to her to look up what has been going on with their beloved organization in australia.
brother geoffrey jackson of the holy governing body was caught lying numerous times about several subjects including disassociations & shunning.
