  yesterday jw knocked on my door, i was sitting in the office with the window right next to it, they couldn't see me & i decided not to answer.

  they stood there for what seemed ages & as i watched something hit me.

  they were here only because they were on the territory.

  Yesterday JW knocked on my door, I was sitting in the office with the window right next to it, they couldn't see me & I decided not to answer. They stood there for what seemed ages & as I watched something hit me. They were here only because they were on the territory. There they stood in their mino clothes with bible in hand no doubt believing that this was an act of kindness. It wasn't. I didn't feel any guilt or anger but it did get me to thinking. When none jw go to see their friends for a cuppa or just call by to see how their going, they don't count the time, they don't write it down & report it back to some-one else. It made ne realise that the ministry is a farss. If they are prepared to do that to one of their baptized sisters who they know has been struggling what does that say about the true motives when calling on others. I`m horrified to admit that I`ve done this to sisters who are not coping for what ever reason, I`ve been to encourage them & counted the time. OMG it`s disgraceful. Elders go on shepherding calls to help the weak & write down the hour they spent there, please tell me where the love is in that. Not once did I ever read Jesus say " I got my 10 hours in & 2 shepherding calls" this is so unkind, but it has taken me this long to see it for what it really is, another act of self-righteousness.

  JW "charity" during wildfire crisis

  so i live in the area of the 'valley' wildfire in northern california.

  i just returned home after 3 days evacuated.

  there is a family who run a fitness center and had opened their doors in disaster relief to affected people with beds, food, clothing and shelter.

  Redpillpopper, it`s an interesting subject, we were all given evacuation plans to follow what to take , where to go & so forth for our safety. My husband (not a jw) said what about their neighbours, I notice they dont care about them. Even so when we had a disaster there were still jdub`s that had to rely on the worldly organizations to help them. One sister who was in her 70`s had to go & stay at a center, of cause she wasn't the most popular person, but should that matter?

  hello all, i would like to first say that i am basically questioning my faith in god.

  i am not negative towards the wt at all.

  so honestly i am to concerned with more ad hominem attacks towards the wt because i still love the organization and the people in it.

  QMF, hello it`s very nice to meet you. Why are you on this forum asking us these questions? If what you claim you feel about the org is true & you are so sure of it why are you shouting so loud to defend it? Believe in God & the org goes hand in hand according to them, you cannot have one without the other. The org teaches that God is almighty & yet you can question him, doubt him, but don't question the W.T. this doesnt add up to me. It feels as if there is something here your not admitting to yourself. You may well have spoken to other elders about your doubts & they may have been kind & loving, however you have not confessed the whole truth have you? you have held back, you have not told them you on this forum & you have no intension of doing so. Your not trying to prove us all wrong, your trying to prove that W.T. is right. The argument is within you. The very thing quite often that we don't want to discuss, in your case the W.T is the very thing that is bothering us the most, we push it away because we fear what it will reveal bout us or what will happen to us. You are very defensive toward us when there is no reason to be so, & that I find troubling, for you of cause. I stand to be corrected on everything I say & I certainly hope this hasn't cased you offense. I look forward to reading your next post. SABIN.

  The Collins dictionary says a generation is the average time between 2 generations of a species, about 35 years for humans. so if a man had his son when he was 30yrs old in 1914, they are both from the same generation. If the son goes on to have his own child at age 30 in 1944, that man is part of his fathers & his childs generation but the child & grandfather are from different generations. That's what how I always understood it, is this what your talking bout here or have I mis read something?

  well it seems for many on this board the time came to leave the w.t and cross the bridge in to a real world.

  speaking for myself l feel i did not enter the cold and lonely world i was lead to believe i was entering.

  rather i have discovered it was no great loss leaving a world that had protected me with false, dreams, fantazy and false promises.. but what have i really achieved by my leaving that i value?.

  what do I love about being out, everything is in colour, I love being on the forum, look forward everyday to reading all your post I love the fact that we are all so different married/divorced/straight/gay/men/woman, all different ages/experiences/opinions & yet I`ve noticed that as soon as someone is distressed about something in their lives everyone rally`s to support them with kind words & advise. I tell you I`ve found more comfort & laughter here than I ever got at the kingdom hall. It`s like breathing the fresh air of the country after a lifetime in the polluted city. Thank you all. We are all amazing.

  the apostle paul stated at 2 timothy 3:16: all scripture is inspired of god.

  the phrase inspired of god translates the compound greek word theopneustos, meaning, literally, god-breathed or breathed by god.

  this is the only occurrence of this greek term in the scriptures.

  i found this article, about a woman who had foster kids and she tortured and abused them, the article says she was a jw.

  Not only was she a JW but also a narcissistic cow. Those youngsters that lived through that have no idea how truly amazing they are. I hope they have a wonderful life as they deserve it & Madam spry can rot in hell. How long do you think it will be before the jdub`s reinstate her? OMG their knocking on my door, am I going to answer it no I`m busy talking to my friends on the forum.

  it seems likely that the watchtower is worried about its finances, given the downsizing, property schemes, and money-grabs we have been seeing over the last few years.

  perhaps they suffered badly from the financial crisis.

  for sure, there will be more expenses to come from child abuse payouts.
